My dad abhors any negative comments about immigrants. Asked him recently why he’s so strong on it: ‘Because we’re always happy to take the rich and clever ones. Which means it’s not about disliking immigrants. It’s about disliking the poor and vulnerable. And that’s a bad human instinct.’

Our new meta-analysis of 1,114 studies on cross-cultural adaptation is now available via Nature Communications!
What is it that actually helps immigrants adapt to the new culture? In this paper, we test a number of different adaptation correlates to find out. Check it out!

UK Metascience Funding
"The UK government has announced a major increase in funding for metascience over the next four years, including a more than trebling of investment in the UK Metascience Unit."
Preparing this talk gave me an opportunity to reflect on what lessons I've learned from psychology's replication crisis and credibility revolution, and what advice I would have for other fields. We've come a long way!
