Feels like the best way to lower gas prices is to build a time machine and go back to two weeks ago and stop yourself from starting a war.

Procter & Gamble would never.
It is pretty blind for an industry to look at a market like βmost adult men,β see that they arenβt consuming the product, and think βwell the problem is the consumer, not us for not serving them a product they want.β
Nobody thought it was a very good movie in 1985, but people liked the three-different-endings gimmick. Otherwise, entirely mediocre.

Sam Altman picked a hell of a day to basically urge the world to trust the morality and legal restraint of the Department of Defense
Two tweets from the NYT, the first detailing OpenAIβs deal with the Pentagon to supply them with AI tools and push out Anthropic, and the second detailing the attack on Iran by the US and Israel.
Three and a half hours apart.
it is 100% good to exploit all avenues we can to save individuals from a system that has turned authoritarian and corrupt and also we have to fight our way back to the whole rule of law thing
yeah ha ha but also this is how things work when everyone ignores the law and there's just one guy in charge
Insulin pumps are DMEs.
i think its very important for any would-be participants in prediction markets to understand that the people who originally conceived of them ADVOCATED insider trading on the theory (correct, i think) that it would make prediction markets more accurate.
The pictures of JD and his lip filler journey are just astounding.

The whole thesis of the article is very weird: Talking Heads were not at all unhip in 1992. They were the pinnacle of 70βs cool, passed between teenagers seeking out the sources of college rock. They werenβt current because their entire second half of the 80βs was one long breakup.
Juuuuust a word of warning, Prodigy is a deeply exploitative business model with virtually no educational value. Do everything you can to keep from spending money within it. Hopefully use it as a jumping off point to introduce her to real JRPG! Lots of classics are available in the App Store.
Sorry that U2 EP isnβt awful sorry sorry I am trying to delete it.

I love how he makes a lot of 2001βs subtext into text. Heβs happy to give you what youβre looking for, instead of keeping you at armβs lengthβbut there are moments where the universe keeps all of us away, and he includes those too.
2010 has a *lot* going for it. Itβs a good script, and thereβre some strong mid 80βs sci-fi vibes, with a touch of schlock. Itβs completely divorced from Kubrick, but there are some pieces in it that feel unknowable and awe-inspiring. Itβs never trying to be more than it is, which I appreciate.
