Anyone got a Dad for borrowing? I need one lol
Unless of course the shower isn't on the fuse board, which it might not be. There are a few electric things in the basement that I'm not sure what they are (i.e. none of it - even the fuse board is just labelled "Lights" for everything - not very helpful πππ)
Think my electric shower has given up the ghost. TBF, it is old. But also, not great timing. Any electrician I get in to install a new one is gonna take one look at my 1960s wooden-backed fuse board and nope the fuck out - and replacing that is not really in the cards soon (or ever) π
Cover of the Vintage Vonnegut edition of Slaughterhouse 5.
Reading my first Kurt Vonnegut book. Feels like a milestone.

Happy Halloween, Fall Children xd πππ
Note to self: This is not nearly enough information. No idea what was meant to be going on here lol

screenshot of an email telling me I've watched 28 films so far this year
Not doing so well with my reading goals this year (only read 5 books and 0 comics), but, hey, doing alright on the movie side. I don't think I've ever watched so many movies in one year - unless we count the year I watched Man in the Iron Mask every single day after school for months xd
The new collaboration from @christophcondon.bsky.social and myself THE PERIL OF THE BRUTAL DARK is out from VERTIGO in February! Check out this preview!

A couple years after me, another mother at the same agency sued and got her baby back because she was able to prove coercion - the agency didn't do anything to her that wasn't done to every other mother, including mine. But most can't prove it and didn't have family willing to help them like she did
She had no idea she was legally allowed to change her mind up to 6 weeks after the birth - despite hospital staff being there and hearing her scream "don't take my baby away" and sob until they knocked her out when they took me to the nursery.
The 'counselling' my mother was offered was writing lists of what she could offer vs what adopters could and being repeatedly told by the agency nuns that she would be a horrible mother because she was young, unmarried, and had nothing to offer but love against the adopters' "2 parents" and money.
"Itβs in the language that frames adoption as empowering, while the majority of relinquishing mothers are not offered counseling, do not have their own legal representation, and are not informed of their rights."
"Adoption isnβt the benevolent system weβre taught it is; it doesnβt exist because we have βso many babiesβ in need of homes; itβs not the βcommon groundβ we should concede in abortion debates. To understand todayβs maternity homes, we have to first reframe what we think we know about adoption."

Jobs requiring a Bachelors degree, when one isn't required for like licensure, 'or equivalent experience' is discriminatory and redundant, and I will die on that hill. This post brought to you by trying to help my friend figure out how to demonstrate their experience is equivalent - hellish.
The news is out!!! Brutal Dark, the new series by myself and @christophcondon.bsky.social is coming from VERTIGO in 2026!! Meet Ezra Caine, our Nazi-Punching-New-Yorking- P.I!

If I ever went for an autism assessment, I'd tell them that when I was around 10, I had a Dr Seuss memory book which asked, "Do you eat like a horse or a bird?" and I wrote, "I eat like a person".
MEGALOPOLIS the graphic novel is out TODAY. I'm so excited to finally get this book out into the world. Here's a few of my favourite pages from the book
Two colourful art prints side-by-side in white frames. On the left, there is a brown Jesus with rainbows and text at the bottom that reads "Love one another". On the right, a child with messy hair and big glasses in a t-shirt that reads "Strong-Willed Child".
Finally found a place for these lovely art prints I bought from @emilygarces.bsky.social nearly two months ago. It's a very tiny, narrow hallway, so it was hard to get a decent picture. I love them <3
Not convinced my package will actually turn up today since for some reason it left Leeds to go to Manchester and is out for delivery in Manchester ? despite needing to be delivered to somewhere far closer to Leeds lol
