That's the MMO Law of Audible Bitching, but it only works when it's unintentional.
Yeah, but you can't trust those slithy toves as far as you can throw them.
I cannot wait till I never have to see the word Trump again

Absolutely same today (and this month/year/decade). Choices are weep and rant, or bury it all. I have always been better at the latter than the former. There's a limit to how much I can rage these days, per my doctor's orders; that's going to be my excuse.
Sadly, it can absolutely be los dos.
Fast Show references aside, fuuuuuuck
Oh no :(
This year just keeps getting better and better. Don't mind me, just crawling back under the covers.
Aye, I just got kicked into a very tangential actual-Elmo rant, having never much like the poor thing. Now I feel mean. ;D
Is something weird with BSky right now? My replies are taking forever and half of them are straight up not showing. Not that they're unmissable, but it's odd.
They won't start with banning birth control. First they'll lie about it. Then dictate who can prescribe it, use it, fund it, in what forms, and for how long. Suddenly, your doctor won't call you back. I know this is what they'll do because it's what they're doing to transgender healthcare right now.
Ha I love their stuff.
I am absolutely a grognard when it comes to Sesame Street characters. Elmo is a whiny little shit, though at least not as (provably) evil as Elon Musk.
π€ Trying not to hope too hard but...
I really like your accent, though on other people it's not always one that's easy on the ears. I mean, that's fully a habit thing, not an objective judgement at all. I will never forget my NI GM who described a 'tar' about 6 times in a tabletop game before I realised he was saying 'tower'. π

Yeah, that pretty much guarantees I'll never do another Twitch Drops thing again. I put them on but mute them if they're a stream I'm not super interested in (absolutely not yours specifically, the last drops I watched were for No Man's Sky), and telling me I'm 'not allowed' = voting with my feet.
"It's Batte Pshitte the wizard! The P isn't silent!!"
Oh wow, I wonder if I got deleted too. Am I going to log on to find out? No, no I'm not.
Also... sympathies? Congratulations? I'm not sure?
The political effects of X's feed algorithm https://doi.org/10.1038/s41586-026-10098-2 Received: 16 December 2024 Accepted: 4 January 2026 Published online: 18 February 2026 Open access β’ Check for updates Germain Gauthier,5, Roland Hodler?5, Philine Widmer35 & Ekaterina Zhuravskaya3,4,5 m Feed algorithms are widely suspected to influence political attitudes. However, previous evidence from switching off the algorithm on Meta platforms found no political effects'. Here we present results from a 2023 field experiment on Elon Musk's platform X shedding light on this puzzle. We assigned active US-based users randomly to either an algorithmic or a chronological feed for 7 weeks, measuring political attitudes and online behaviour. Switching from a chronological to an algorithmic feed increased engagement and shifted political opinion towards more conservative positions, particularly regarding policy priorities, perceptions of criminal investigations into Donald Trump and views on the war in Ukraine. In contrast, switching from the algorithmic to the chronological feed had no comparable effects. Neither switching the algorithm on nor switching it off significantly affected affective polarization or self-reported partisanship. To investigate the mechanism, we analysed users' feed content and behaviour. We found that the algorithm promotes conservative content and demotes posts by traditional media. Exposure to algorithmic content leads users to follow conservative political activist accounts, which they continue to follow even after switching off the algorithm, helping explain the asymmetry in effects. These results suggest that initial exposure to X's algorithm has persistent effects on users' current political attitudes and account-following behaviour, even in the absence of a detectable effect on partisanship.
A new paper shows that less than 2 months of exposure to Twitterβs algorithmic feed significantly shifts peopleβs political views to the right.
Moving from chronological feed to the algorithmic feed also increases engagement.
This is one of the most concerning papers Iβve read in awhile.

Exactly. There were systems & planets I'd discovered and named years ago, and it was fun to come across them now and then.
The teleporter list has always been limited and somewhat buggy. I'm not salty, it's a lot of people creating a *lot* of data-points, but still...
Oops. Turns out Persona, Discordβs age-verification service, was secretly screening selfies against government watchlists AND accessible by the feds. It's backed by Peter Thiel.

I see you. π

Given who the Sims franchise is being sold to (along with the rest of EA), I'm never touching it again - and I've been playing it pretty regularly since 2009. Admittedly I was kind of over it already (it's a shallow, buggy mess), but this was the last nail in the coffin for me.
