I have watched very little NHL this season (and only been to one game, namely Utah beating the Caps), but my sense is Colorado, Dallas, and maybe Carolina are much better than everyone else, but there are plenty of chaos teams too (Buffalo, Detroit, Edmonton and Montreal on behalf of Canada).
