Appreciate your summary and input, however for now I'm going to remain skeptical at best until I get to read the actual policies and costings.
Now I like the idea of a UBI, the holistic fishery concept and the energy policy. But all rely on taxation changes. And I don't see enough people willing to vote on a tax on their properties
Hell, we can't even get an insipid capital gains tax through which would only be paid occasionally
One that won't be covered by sorting waste etc. So becomes reliant on changing income and outgoings.
Then there's the big grey 'most adults' that really needs expanding and explaining
Benefit payments in the last reported year, including super were 38% of the total tax take
A UBI at the somewhere near Jobseekers level payed to all 4.1m adults comes in at 75% of the tax take (back of envelope maths there)
Yes waste and complexity need sorting but that's one hell of a shortfall
One of several grey areas in the idea and the reason I'm, err, wary of it being effective
Greens have an advantage of being a parliamentary party. Gives greater, not full, access to figures
Outside of parliament and youre more reliant on FOI requests, guesses and what's been released
Its why we always hear the books aren't as expected when a government changes

Supermarket
No broccoli, cauliflower, milk or the bread I like
Also 10 manned tills, of which 3 are open. Queues making getting to fridges impossible
I still hate supermarkets

Yesterday it had gone up 40c from Friday
Someone's taking the piss
It reeks, to me, of a party with grand ideas, based on economic theory but currently uncosted
Which isn't a surprise as they have no access to true government expenditure
I'm not against a UBI, which will apparently be 'roughly in line'* with the jobseekers benefit amount and avaliable to 'most adults'* Then theres the 'higher, compulsory Kiwisaver contributions'* and LVT* proposals
The* all throw a red flag. How much isn't stated, who gets the UBI isn't stated

Hate to see it happen but the coolers combined with a pit lane infringement isn't a good look
People have an idea what Labour etc stand for
They've no idea about the OP, other than what's been reported. Which is a land tax, UBI, and losing superannuation
So they need to attract 200,000 voters with stated policies that hit their assets and might be offset by a UBI
Ain't going to happen
