That is so cute! Sad my kids are too old to get a book like that!
This is me but Iβve been critiquing instead of writing so I guess thatβs something
This was incredibly helpful! Thank you @dangemeinhart.bsky.social!

Mrs. Whitney is #currentlyreading The Midnight Children by Dan Gemeinhart.
I recently took a writing webinar with Dan about first chapters through @mgwg.bsky.social so of course I had to read one of his books!

Mrs. Whitney is #currentlyreading The Enchanted Hour by Meghan Cox Gurdon. I don't usually read non-fiction, but this was for a class and I found it very interesting. Not only that, it gave me some new ideas both at home and at work!

This is exactly what I want to say but put way more eloquently.
YES! This is exactly what I'm trying to say, but you said it way better! This is precisely the problem.
Mrs. Whitney's year in books 2025 featuring the covers of 30 books on bookshelves
Welcome back and happy new year! I read 30 books in 2025. Which of these titles did you read?
I'm sorry but I don't remember where I got this cool #Canva template!
If no one takes them, I donate them to our local library bookstore.
This one really doesn't bother me the way other memes do. π€·ββοΈ
We host a book swap at the end of the year. We collect donations and then students can all get the same number of books to keep, regardless of how many they donated.

I keep forgetting to do these #currentlyreading posts, but I promise I am reading! Look for my 2025 reading recap soon!
This is a rare adult read for me, but I've been following Molly for years and I'm excited to read her book!

Not my best, but certainly not my worst! Finished this yearβs novel A Whole Latke Problems at 50,075 words! Itβs my 20th year writing a novel in November! π₯³

Oh wow, those are great!
It's the opposite for me! Staff meetings are worse to clean up after than classes of students!
That is genius! I never heard of that before!
Very interesting themes emerged from the comments that teens made about the news that 12th-grade reading scores are at a 30-year low

Look at my young novelists go! They get a box colored in for each 10% of their word goal they complete. I use a different color for each club meeting so we can see our progress over time!

For me itβs about an hour a day. I definitely burned out when I tried to do a thousand words every day, but now November is pretty much the only time of year I write a new novel.
Revisions are a big struggle for me, so extra good luck for yours!
I agree. This is year 20 for me and thatβs what I do! After year 10 or so, I started to aim for 2,000 a day so I can finish earlier!

Started novel writing club last week. Today I asked them what their novel would be about. Here's one fourth grader's response.

After being bullied for her smarts AGAIN, Cal goes home to cry in her dad's failed teleporter. But then it actually works. Kinda. She's going to need all her brain power, a little toxic dihydrogen monoxide, and a few new friends if she ever wants to get back home.
