Impressive! The REAL Hugh Grant wants to follow little old me! I imagine he’s inspired by the teaching/ pitting/ broken eye stuff that I post here occasionally!

I’ve been rubbing arnica on my cheek and forehead- they were bruised and swollen but a lot better now. Good call for internal arnica too though!
Mmmmmm detached retina surgery gives you a charming (and pretty blinking painful) eyeball bruise.

The last week has been a little miserable, painful & blurry. Retinal detachment surgery isn’t great. Lovely colleagues have dropped a ‘cheer up’ parcel round inc a perfect piece of art from @SDupp, Black Eye gin,a Cornish hamper,local history document &eye patches @mrjuliandicks

Exactly! Stupidly, I thought, op I could get really ahead with work while I’m off- obvs I can’t- not least because the blurry double vision, under water bleurgh is making me feel sick!

3- 4 weeks off work. 3 months to normalish vision. Can’t be bumped or do anything jolty or strainy for 6 months! Perfect for work in a primary!

Detached retina is boring now. Still a fortnight till surgery and permanent headache over left eye is annoying!
