I think Bruce Harrell should be *required* to continue posting tiktoks from the official city account, to prove he wasn't just using public resources to promote his campaign
If SCOTUS isn't going to even pretend to be a legitimate body concerned about the rule of law, why should Americans continue to treat it as a legitimate institution?
This is amazing! 👇

By god, Sherman nailed them: "“…Sons of [Southern] planters, lawyers about towns, good billiard players and sportsmen, men who never did any work and never will. War suits them …”
The transfer of budget dollars from blue collar workers (bus drivers), who directly provide a service, to white collar professionals (transit safety czars), who narrate slide decks at council meetings, is a problem that needs to be reversed.
Thursday, November 13th drop: Katie Wilson now leads Bruce Harrell by 2,018 votes.
Neither condition for a mandatory recount is satisfied anymore. There won't be a recount. Also, Harrell conceded today. He knows he's done.

I’m looking forward to working together in building a city that is affordable, safe, and thriving for working families!
I think it’s now safe to call this race.

Katie Wilson is now almost certainly Seattle's 58th mayor. We spoke just now: "We’re going to wait for all of the ballots to be counted, but I think we won this race." www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news...
With basically all the ballots in the city of Seattle's mayoral election counted, Katie Wilson is now above 50 percent, with Mayor Bruce Harrell sliding to 49.6 percent. They're currently within the mandatory recount requirements, but machine recounts don't generally change things much.
Wilson's up 1,346 votes.
This race is likely over.
🚨🚨 Just in: Katie Wilson has expanded her lead in the Seattle mayor race. She is now leading by 1,346 votes.
The exciting talent @katiewilson.bsky.social has taken a narrow lead as ballots are still being counted in the Seattle mayoral race.
If you want a sense of why this is very cool news, here's something of mine from earlier this fall

KATIE TAKES THE LEAD!!🎊
🔥
Seattle mayor Bruce Harrell was putting out at least a press release daily celebrating all the amazing things the mayor's office was doing right up until, let's see, November 3.
Nothing since then, though. Weird!
With another 56,000 votes counted in the Seattle mayor's race, Katie Wilson has narrowed the gap with incumbent Bruce Harrell to just 4,300 votes, and received just under 55 percent of the vote in the latest count, with perhaps 50,000 votes remaining to be counted. That's a solid turnaround.
This is incredible. King County elections is now saying they have 45,000 ballots left to count. If Wilson gets exactly the same margin of those as she got today she'll take the lead by... 20 votes!
The progressive slate is poised to take over the Burien City Council and that rules.
