I love the publishers that include cover credits on their website. As a book blogger, it often takes so much research to try to figure out who to credit

Made a contribution just now to Filipino BC & The Filipino Centre. If you're moved to do likewise in solidarity with the Filipino community in the wake of last night's mass murder, donations can be received at the following link:
Photo of four books with their spines visible. They are held by someoneβs hand with their lap visible, seated outside on the grass. The book titles are Catching the Light, What You Can See From Here, The Politics of Racism, and Borders.
Todayβs book haul! #CIBD2025
Happy indie bookstore day! For those looking for indies to visit, I've got my list of Beautiful Bookstores in Canada and the States (limited to Seattle so far) on the blog: spinesinaline.wordpress.com/beautiful-bo...

When I joined, publerβs grid hadnβt yet caught up to igβs changes so it wasnβt as helpful in planning out my posts. Iβm still trying to navigate the site as I find the dashboard quite cluttered
If you always seem to miss #CanadaReads like I do, @spinesinaline.bsky.social has written an informative recap #CanLit

Thank you for sharing! π
I read this one after seeing it in Reactorβs newsletter and loved it!
Yes, I havenβt connected any accounts
Thanks, got that same answer from support and Iβve only ever created one account and signed in with one email address!
Iβve now received 4 emails from @publer.com telling me my account is scheduled for deletion unless I login.. which Iβve done 4 times. Feels like publer wants me to delete my account π
Top Ten Tuesday looking ahead to #CIBD2025, featuring some #BeautifulBookstores with my recent book hauls!

Write letters in support of your library, to the board and to your local paper. Commit to attending a couple board meetings. Contact your political reps about doing something about the gutting of IMLS. Go to protests. Anything. Just get involved and advocate.
I always forget hashtags on here but Iβm still learning the ways of bluesky #BookBlogger
Graphic with three book covers over a photo of a pier off a rocky beach, with a big expanse of ocean under a cloudy sky. The books include The Museum of Rain, The Queue, and What You Are Looking For Is in the Library.
My monthly wrap-up, 2 light reads and one very intense, dystopian read. Itβs called balance
I posted my 800th blog post today! Time flies

Text warning about an April 2 tariff: With this April 2 tariff, Canadian booksellers and publishers will face unsustainable new costs and customers will be faced with book prices beyond what they are willing to pay. Most books will be subject to the new tariff because they are warehoused in the US by publishers and distributors. Books have both US and CAD prices printed on the cover, making it difficult to increase prices to cover the tariff. Alternatively, charging the CAD cover-price and absorbing the 25% tariff (even short term) will bury many independents because the industry survives on an already small margin of profit. The tariff is detrimental to Canadian booksellers and publishers and will result in long-term negative effects to our literary community.
Canadians! π¨π¦ Book industry needs your help (incl. for π¨π¦ book creators like me, whose books are published and/or warehoused in U.S.).

I've only watched day 1 of Canada Reads so far but looking forward to the rest of the debates! I talked a bit about it on my blog this week, including one book on the shortlist that was one of my first ever reviews! #BookBlogger spinesinaline.wordpress.com/2025/03/17/s...
Iβm almost finished my current read, THE QUEUE! An unsettling dystopian, definitely big 1984 vibes with an extremely authoritarian government with eyes everywhere and seemingly hopeless situation for all citizens

Canβt believe itβs already been two years!!
Now if only wordpress had an easier to use mobile app
Iβm hoping to get back into a regular (ish) blogging schedule but work has been so busy, Iβve barely cracked open my laptop when Iβm home. But I downloaded the bluesky app as a first step to try to keep up with the book community!
A woman in a long coat and scarf stands outside Sleuth of Baker Street, a mystery bookstore in Toronto, holding a book and smiling at the camera. The storefront features a large black and gold sign with the storeβs name, website, and phone number. The window display showcases various books, with reflections of trees and buildings visible in the glass. A small sign on the door indicates that the store is open.
Entrepreneurial mystery book lovers in Toronto! The owner Toronto's mystery bookstore, SLEUTH OF BAKER STREET, is retiring. He is looking for someone interested in taking over the bookshop, gave me permission to post publicly about this. sleuthofbakerstreet.ca #Toronto #IndieBookstores
Went on a brief trip and have even more bookstores to feature! Coming soon!
I have a bunch of Beautiful Bookstores I'd love to feature but of course am stuck in the grouping together stage. Trying to think of categories for these posts is hard π
