unfortunately, the cloudflare layer doesn't stop all AI scrapers & bots (though it stops most, ime) (it's all a cat & mouse game) (there's plenty of other earned criticism for OCLC).

i can attest, if you're running a website & want to implement cloudflare to block hackers, web scrapers, & AI bots, these suggestions by Troy are a great start. On cloudflare's initial settings (esp. on free plan), a lot of bad traffic still comes through!

great work, transit community in CLE has thought of doing this but RTA just has the board/employees flash their badge when entering bus so individual records aren't kept.

(and there's a real tradeoff here - map loading really suffers for the user once you go above a few hundred markers!)

some improvements to web map libraries id propose: geocoding the location of marker clusters and including it in the aria-label; marker clusters current aria-label is typically set as "marker cluster of 36". someone using AT & going through a list of marker clusters just gets numbers of markers!
for web map cartographers, there's no fits all solution for making a map w/ makers accessible, but on mapbox/maplibre, adding your point data as markers instead of as a map layer is a good first step (compared to adding yr data as a map layer)
