beat me to it!
You've just reminded me that I saw a fantastic Othello at a Shakespeare in the Park years ago, and I cried in public it was *so good*. It was set in modern Cyprus so the military uniforms were all like modern camo, but it worked?? So well??
It is World Book Day. Buy a book from an indie press, leave a review for an author, or social media post to a beloved author and make their day.
February may be over, but sexy bounty hunters and fated mates are forever. We're sharing a list of all the new romantasy books of March 2026!

Ironically, SchrΓΆdinger was also a pedophile.
This is fine dog saying "I've got a novel coming out"

As unlikely as it might sound to some, "Canadian thriller" is not an oxymoron. @jdnicoll.bsky.social offers a brief survey of political thrillers set in Canada, and some of the recurring themes and threats they tend to share...
Letβs Celebrate Heated Rivalry! Mainstream smut is a net positive in a world of censorship; Canadian hockey smut book series-turned-surprise television series breakout, Heated Rivalry is a βgame changerβ in more ways than one...

By a thin margin we have locked in the first Stretch Goal of the "Tea or Coffee, Stars, and Gravity" KS campaign and can now add 4 to 6 more authors to the budget. Info - www.kickstarter.com/projects/526...
Mood.
Star Trek: Discovery, Kenneth Mitchell as Aurelio, a character in a futuristic hover/wheelchair
Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; Daphne Ashbrook as Melora Pazlar, a character who uses mobility aids including a wheelchair as accommodation for her lower gravity requirements
Bruce Greenwood portrays Captain Pike in the Star Trek (2009). The character canonically uses a wheelchair and other assistive technology in the Prime Universe, including The Original Series S1.E11-12 episodes "The Menagerie: Parts I-II", in Star Trek: Discovery, and in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (the latter in visions of his future injury).
The inventor of the transporter, Emory Erickson (Bill Cobbs), uses a wheelchair after being paralyzed in a transporter accident (ENT: "Daedalus").
Disabled characters have ALWAYS been a part of Star Trek.
I can think of examples from TOS, TNG, 2009, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise, BNW, Disco, LD. Why would Academy be different?
Oh, ew. What program are you using that is monitoring your writing like that?!
What?? With the sudden mainstream reinvigoration of Bridgerton and Outlander? What on earth...
Signal boost for my fellow Canadians!

Oh someone please write the smut version of this book
#writingcommunity Everyone's championing Bookshop dot org as being different and kinder to authors... No, they're not.
Ah, thank you for clarifying. Still sucks that adult content is being treated differently by bookshop than other categories.
Worth noting that this deal has led to the explicit banning of erotica on D2D, so self-publishing smut has gained a new roadblock.

Unfortunately they are blocking all erotica from distribution. Very sad to see a champion for indie bookstores take such a restrictive stance on fiction.
Ah, finally a story that captures how it feels to postdoc
Funnily enough, *The Orville* (from the makers of Family Guy) actually feels more like Star Trek than the new Star Trek shows.
Is this satirical? Because Pound is one of *the* most problematic modernists. Really hard to be worse than a pro-eugenics fascist charged with treason for being a Nazi sympathizer and selling out to Mussolini. He was also famously homophobic and didn't think women could/should be writers...

I like to think that most of what Miah reads can be divided into one of two categories:
The driest, most boring academic texts you can possibly imagine.
OR
Some of the raunchiest, most gratuitous kink filled smut ever written.
Disturbing but not surprisingβmore confirmation that LLMs are copying machines
