Ikaruga's scoring system being so focused on polarity chaining demanded a different playstyle than what I'm used to for shmups. I revisited this game after two years to play through it again in Free Play on easy and normal. And I even beat an old high score in normal Arcade mode.

So much dungeon crawling today. I couldn't clear Yakamagashi Pass, but I unlocked and cleared Kiki Island! Kiki Island used the Shiren 6's inference mechanic, which made it feel much easier than the Pass.

Today in Shiren the Wanderer 6, I'm aiming to clear Yakamagashi Pass and unlock Kiki Island. I probably will get the Kiki Island unlock event then clear Serpentcoil Island again (for the tenth time).

Still haven't tried Dune of Batsu, but I did clear Serpentcoil Island three more times to see more story events. Unlocked Yamakagashi Pass and approaching the unlock for Kiki Island. Also, the Golden Highway hidden route is great for upgrading gear.

I beat Rabbit and Steel on Hard thanks to the Defender Rabbit Garnet Special being so strong. It was also nice seeing the credits with an epilogue to the story. I then cleared the Extra Mode once on Normal as practice and to see more story.

I cleared the Behemoth Rush dungeon in Shiren the Wanderer 6 today after two attempts. I remembered how the Behemoth Gates worked around the last ten floors, but I also had plenty of rocks.

Cleared the Training Path of Inference dungeon on my third attempt in Shiren 6. I already spent two rescues up until floor 10, but I played more carefully afterward. The gazers were so much trouble until I had enough damage to one-shot them.

A table of accepted requests from Shiren the Wanderer 6's online rescue board. Each request has a limited availability and rewards rescue aid points for turning on extra assists in later rescues.

Players that collapse in a dungeon can submit a rescue request. If the request is accepted, the rescuer experiences the same dungeon layout of the requester up to the floor the requester collapsed. Upon rescue, the requester can resume their dungeon run.

Rescue Aids are optional assists for rescuers attempting to rescue collapsed wanderers.

Thinking about the Fuel Rats in Elite Dangerous while doing rescue requests in Shiren the Wanderer 6. Having a bounty board to save other players' dungeon runs has become one of my favorite forms of asynchronous multiplayer.

I cleared Serpentcoil Island twice in one sitting tonight. My strength even went to the minimum once, but my sword was so strong it didn't matter. I'm also getting a nice collection of gear - glad to see this feature return.

While my computer was out of action, I got reacquainted with my New Nintendo 3DS XL and cleared the 33-floor mystery dungeon in Adventure Labyrinth Story. Did you know it's actually really easy to mod your 3DS?

New computer power supply is in and I had an unused Cooler Master HAF 912 tower in my closet. Everything is up and running again with slight improvements.
