Raw Story reports: Mockery abounded on Sunday night after a conservative advocacy organization announced its "All-American Halftime Show" was facing technical difficulties ahead of airtime. Turning Point USA, the group founded by the late activist Charlie Kirk, announced that "licensing restrictions" were preventing its halftime show featuring Kid Rock from appearing on X, which is owned by President Donald Trump's ally Elon Musk. The show was organized in response to the Super Bowl LX halftime show featuring Bad Bunny, a Puerto Rican artist who will perform entirely in Spanish. "Due to licensing restrictions, we are unable to stream The All-American Halftime Show on X," the organization posted on X. "Head on over to our YouTube channel tonight around 8PM ET to watch the full show."

Some 74 of the world’s 2,027 billionaires held either executive or legislative government positions in 2023, giving them a 3.6% chance of holding office, according to Oxfam’s study, which was released Sunday. By contrast, the average global citizen had just a 0.0009% chance of holding office. “This year’s report really shines a light on the relationship between political inequality and economic inequality,” said Rebecca Riddell, senior policy lead for economic justice at Oxfam America. “The fact that billionaires are 4,000 times more likely to hold office than you or I underscores just how much outsized power billionaires have.” The Oxfam report, which draws on data compiled by Forbes and other sources, is timed to coincide with the kickoff of the annual World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, an elite gathering of some of the richest people and world leaders. Its release also comes as billionaire US President Donald Trump marks his first year in office. Trump has assembled the wealthiest cabinet and team in modern American history, with multiple billionaires and multimillionaires leading government agencies. An anonymous person in Florida has registered the domain nazis.us and redirected it to the Department of Homeland Security’s website in an apparent protest of the Trump administration. As of Thursday evening, the URL that sounds like it would be the homepage for U.S.-based Nazis does still redirect to dhs.gov when entered into a web browser. According to GoDaddy’s WHOIS database records, nazis.us was registered on Jan. 13 by someone with a mailing address in Florida. Mediaite reached out to the registrant through the contact form on Wednesday but has not received a reply.
