Best comeback. 10/10 no notes π
Zelenskyy has really raised the credibility of comedians, but also given the world a wildly misleading bar for what most of us are capable of.

When you're reading an early copy of a friend's book and you write to them midway because you can't wait to tell them how much you love it. THAT. @maisiechanwrites.bsky.social #KidLitUK #UKKidlit

Another βbest ofβ list to completely disregard due to the lack of childrenβs or young adult books. Honestly, did they not learn from the savaging I gave their last list π vm.tiktok.com/ZGd2pB2fx/

The Rights Of The Reader by Daniel Pennac, illustrated by Quentin Blake. 1. The right not to read. 2. The right to skip. 3. The right not to finish a book. 4. The right to read it again. 5. The right to read anything. 6. The right to mistake a book for real life. 7. The right to read anywhere. 8. The right to dip in. 9. The right to read out loud. 10. The right to be quiet.
If you want kids to love reading - LET THEM READ THINGS THEY LOVE! The books we love when we're young are the ones that make us readers, and choice is a right that every reader should have. Never take it away from them! #literacy #reading #kidlit #books

I have spent a large chunk of my career to this point working in a school where I didn't need to convince kids to read. They were like tiny book addicts, devouring my collection. I moved to my current in 2022 & I have been struggling to figure out how to get my students engaged with books.

Yes, it often gives me pause and I'm not sure I fully take anyone seriously in education who calls themselves an expert. I say I'm experienced but that's as far as I'll go.
I stopped really using Twitter a while ago, & I grieved the loss of a community I built there. Now I'm ready to try to rebuild it π
