TKO has deep deep ties to the Gulf States. That is looking like a very bad bet at the moment. www.themmadraw.com/p/wrestleman...
Remember what I was saying? $80 billion in debt with $30 billion in revenue (not profit) and a $15 billion market cap?
They're dead. Even if they panic and try to spin off all of the properties they just bought, they'll never come close to profitable.
This is why Netflix walked away.
This was written at @kidnate.bsky.social s site, I think it's paywalled but basically Epstein dealt in a LOT of private plane stuff open.substack.com/pub/themmadr...
Had fun making an AI slop image to commemorate this horrible moment in human history.
Finally someone brave enough to say it!
and unfortunately, we're straddling different eras with different reporting mechanisms so we don't even have relative accuracy. Got a better way to track it?
I'd like to do an online survey and see how their social media #s', YouTube etc have fared but not sure even how to approach it.
I would question *all* of these numbers. They're from a variety of sources and ultimately none of them (whether Nielsen in the 2000s or Paramount+ today) are likely exactly accurate. But I think they do show us broad trends.
Most viewed MMA bouts on US TV by year. Yeah, some of this is the decline in TV viewing, and a lot of it reflects the PPV wall erected by ESPN+, but some of may be real erosion in the popularity of the sport. Can Paramount+ fix this? www.themmadraw.com/p/ufc-please...
CBS News median age: 58
CNN median age: 50
TikTok: 43% of adults 18-29 get news from TikTok
Ellison (and the right) are covering their demographics. Bezos' Washington Post's median age is 44, same as Joe Rogan listeners...

The people who bought CBS and lurched it into rightwing shit just bought TikTok (a major source of news) and trying to purchase CNN... They're attempting to consolidate the news to favor the right even more...

TKO has unmatched relationships with the streaming companies The streaming wars, cord-cutting, and the near-death of movie theaters have destroyed most of Hollywood. Once great media conglomerates like Paramount, Warner Brothers, Disney, and Fox are either fading fast, out of the game entirely, or have been swallowed up by bigger players. Netflix, Alphabet (owner of YouTube), and Amazon are the giants now, and second-tier players like David Ellisonβs new Paramount, Disney/ESPN, and Comcastβs Peacock are desperately trying to adapt and compete. For boxingβs Big Four, this consolidation has been a near-extinction-level event. None of them has a major media deal. This creates a doom loop. No media deal, no money to sign big-time fights. No big-time fights on the horizon, no media deals. TKO is not and never will be in this position. Paramount was happy to pay for Zuffa Boxing, even though itβs only vaporware. Thatβs because they want to keep TKO happy after betting a big chunk of their future on the UFC. ESPN has a massive deal with TKO for WWE. They will always be willing to talk business with Ari, Mark Shapiro, and Nick Khan. Same for Netflix, who air WWE Raw. All of these execs know that when they sit down to talk with Ari Emanuel about a deal with TKO, heβs not just the combat sports guy, heβs the King of Hollywood, the Agent of Agents, the Influencer of Influencers. Even if the boxingβs Big Four did combine forces, theyβd still just be boxing. TKO is boxing, MMA, and pro-wrestling. WME Group is all that plus they are agents for everything else a media company needs: talking heads, actors, directors, show runners, influencers, sports stars, and on and on.
