StarLord: (very specifically this is the 2000s comics version, very different character from the movie). A man defined by one large blunder he made, and the grief that came from that. Wanted to throw away his hero identity and abhorred the symbol it made him, but was forced to keep all that to inspire hope in others. Goes to questionable lengths to protect the universe, and is more than willing to sacrifice his life. Much of this is deliberately present in Uaruru's story. Me!: Uaruru is 100% a reflection of myself and certain facets of me. My grief, my ego, my moral failings, my struggles. Alan Wake: Sacrificed himself to save the woman he loves, but is now forever trapped away from her, unable to reunite. Battles literal darkness and works under lovecraftian rules to shape reality to one day maybe see his beloved again. Before all that supernatural stuff happened tho he was a huge jerk with a massive ego suffering from success and fame. A lot of this made it into Uaruru. Ikora: One of the most powerful sorcerers/warlocks in her world as well as a terrifying martial fighter in her own right. Leader of a secretive organization at her beck and call. Very headstrong, overly serious, humorless, wants things done exactly her way. This is basically modern day Uaruru. Edna Mode: Eccentric and wild, loud when she wants to be, picky, very small, good at pep talks when it matters, knows an endless number of powerful people and high society types. I've read/written Uaruru in this character's voice somewhat. Also the whole scene where Edna gives a pep talk is VERY Uaruru. Especially the bit where smacks with a news paper. She would. Captain: Storied hero, been through a lot, fan interpretation of this character is they must be quite fucked up from the whole child soldier thing to the forced mindcontrol good thing. Stoic as hell to boot. Very Uaruru in a general way but was on my mind for Uaruru's current iteration.
