Aside from last night's collapse, the #STLBlues have looked good lately.
A couple of GREAT moves at the deadline by Armstrong, a number of fun/young players in the system, & Hofer in net. I like this team moving forward.
Hats off to Armstrong. What a great run he has had as the Blues' GM.
STL probably isn't going to retain any salary. They rarely do.
Actually... apparently Parayko hasn't waived his NTC as of yet. It's still pending... so we'll see.
Colton Parayko waives his NTC to go to the Buffalo Sabres, in exchange for Radim Mrtka who is an 18yr old defensive prospect and was a 9th rd pick last season. He has put up a lot of assists in the WHL this season. 29pts in 35 games.
The Blues also get a 1st rd pick.

I don't think Thomas is going anywhere though. We don't have to move him. Another reason the ask is so high. He could stay and be a cornerstone here for years and still easily be in his prime when the rebuild is done.
People just don't understand stuff.
Sabres fans and others scoffing at the high asking price for Thomas are clueless.
He's elite.
And his contract is fantastic with 5 more years on it.
This isn't a rental, or a short term acquisition for a team. He'd be an elite cornerstone for years.

Faulk, Schenn and Binnington won't be here when we come out of this rebuild. Get something while we can for them.
Kyrou and Buch are a disappointments. If we can move their contracts we should.
Buchnevich has been largely disappointing the past 2 seasons. A few game stretch doesn't offset that for me.
Trading Thomas would be stupid unless he wants out.
His contract is fantastic, we probably aren't going to get enough in return, and we'd have to find another Thomas.
Binnington, Kyrou, Buchnevich, Faulk, Schenn are guys I'd like to see moved if possible.
But NOT Thomas.

It was actually 2OT... and yeah... I remember EXACTLY where I was and EXACTLY how I felt. But the pain from Yzerman's goal was eased a bit when we won the cup in 2019.
2019 removed the weight of decades of underachieving teams and playoff heartbreak.
