Why would anyone want a boring "manhole" cover when you could paint, like in this case, in all kinds of color. This square "traffic signals" utility cover on the sidewalk has a diamond relief pattern. Each single diamond is painted yellow, blue, pink, orange, white, and brown. Although it seems like a random arrangement, maybe the artist had some hidden meaning.

Give peace a chance! A white dove at the Parque de las Palomas in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. The frame is filled with a closeup of a wall of mollusks. All pointing towards us in a jagged arrangement all in different orientations. The shells are white and give the impression of a wall of dozens of teeth. If I didn't know better it might even look like an alien nightmare.

Beautiful, and unusual, corner you captured in my childhood home.

The Sahalie Falls in Oregon. This river creates a turbulent water cascade with two split falls, one large one small. There are many proudly tall conifers surrounding the water. But the rocks below are covered in moss, grass, and small plants. Seemingly to better feed on the mist from the falls.

In the tree town USA of Evanston Illinois you could hardly tell that the Rusty Patched Bumble Bee is endangered as it's seemingly everywhere. This specimen is enjoying an afternoon snack on a patch of pink Monardas. We see the bee's folded wings as it hangs on to the thin flowing petals. And can see the characteristic yellow/brown fuzz with darker center patch for this bee.
