modern semiconductor design and manufacturing is *breathtaking*. the ingenuity of thousands upon thousands of humans poured into an object you can hold in your hand. what a shame, to disrespect such masterpieces by using them for murder and moronics

this is what made me fall in love with computers. if I solve the right puzzles it allows more people to talk to each other safely, make art, share books, do new kinds of science. I get so angry about current tech in part bc we are wasting so much beautiful human creativity on hurting each other
DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON HOW EVERYONE IS TURNING ON THE AI SURVEILLANCE TOOLS - SORRY, NOTE TAKERS - IN EVERY.FUCKING.CALL. NOW!!!!
I think the most frustrating thing about *gestures generally at all the fascism* is the Very Serious People who insist that we cannot, in fact, do better than this and mock those of us who think there's no such thing as a disposable human life.
Staff at the nationβs largest Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention facility have placed bets on which detainee will be the next to die by suicide, according to new reporting from the Associated Press based on 911 calls and detainee accounts.
The entire controversy that ended last Friday at 5 pm ESTβ hours before the US launched a war against Iran βbetween Hegseth and the head of Anthropic β was about ethical limits on the use of AI to kill people
Theyβre still lying to us.

I haven't said anything about this before, bc in the grand scheme of horrors this only rates as an inconvenience, but since others are experiencing it:
Just three days after CBP arrested me for filming them outside Broadview on 9/27, my TSA Pre & Global Entry were suspendedβand so were my wife's.
The question is always "what if a kid is wrongfully transitioned" and never "what if a trans kid is denied the ability to transition and endures years of excruciating dysphoria and has to have multiple surgeries later in life to fix the issues caused by going through the wrong puberty."
Having suffered the pain of a tooth infection I can unequivocally say that this man died in absolute agony. The type of nerve pain that will have you screaming and wondering quite rightly if youβve gone insane
This man was tortured through neglect, and everyone involved is an irredeemable monster
a crusade against Dunkie's has the potential to turn Republican construction workers from my hometown against RFK Jr. and I am 100% serious about that
Massachusetts would secede from the United States if the government tried to take away iced Dunkie's

I was born in an Iranian prison. My parents were held in their jails. My uncles lie in their mass graves. Nothing you can tell me about the crimes of the Iranian regime that I haven't lived in blood and bone. That doesn't mean I want my people bombed, maimed, killed, their homes in ruins. If your vision of liberation comes only through the destruction of innocent lives, then it's not freedom you're after. Sahar Delijani, Iranian author
I am pro Iranian people. I stand with them against their own governmentβs repression AND against the imperial violence in the form of bombs dropped from the sky from Israel & the US who have already killed hundreds.
I support neither imperialism or dictatorship.
Sahar Delijani said it best:
Call me a raving radical but I literally do not care whether your imperialist massacre of children is βconstitutionalβ or not.
I think about this Tony Benn speech much more than I used to
Itβs insane this is legal. People around Trump are profiting off war and death. Iβm introducing legislation ASAP to ban this.
There is no flag large enough to cover the shame of killing innocent people. Howard Zinn
"hate" is not a strong enough word for what I feel towards the people who have made my life into a cog driving the US war machine, despite my desperate attempts to refuse. how fucking dare you spill the blood of innocents in my fucking name
waking up to news of another spate of senseless murders by my government.
thinking about the taxes I'm compelled to pay soon, which I know will be used for killing. thinking about the financial advisor who, when asked how to ensure my 401k wasn't invested in "defense", told me "you kinda can't"
What "it's a distraction" people fundamentally need to understand about fascism is that fascism's entire mode of operation is diverting popular anger/anxiety/despair into channels of violence against the Other (both internal and external).
It's not flailing, it's the whole strategy.
βHow many of these gentle people have I helped to kill just by paying my taxes?" June Jordan, 1984
There was a general strike here last month. Thereβs genuine support for a change of regime here and all over Iran but you donβt get that with air strikes, all that brings is death.
Read it again. We killed 85 schoolgirls this morning.
Border Patrol dropped a blind Rohingya refugee at a Tim Hortons 5 miles from his home on a freezing February night. Didnβt call his family. Didnβt call his lawyer.
Five days later, Nurul Amin Shah Alam was found dead on a Buffalo sidewalk. He was 56.

Abolish the legal gender marker entirely. No government can be trusted to have a database of which people have changed theirs, no government has any business tracking what your gender is "supposed" to be in the first place.
NEW: Guards have taken away crayons, colored pencils & paper during recent room searches at Dilley, according to detainees and others. After one inspection, the children just βcried and cried and cried,β a mother said. The facility denies the claims.
