And then the Seka variants were typically replaced by Asm-One and DevPac for asm coding in the 90s, Protracker replaced Soundtracker and... Dpaint remained on top. :)
Excellent stuff!

Awesome: Coppenheimer being used in Martin Piperβs latest behind-the-scene tech videos! www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1AP...
Weird: I was checking where my comment went in a anonymous browser tab (itβs gone), and auto-translated audio is the default now on YouTube?!
What he said!
Gerp is a great event and I'm already looking forward to next year (even though I still feel the after-effects of this weekend's party).
Check out this mouse pointer!
And the Amiga Pointer Archive, a museum of all Amiga mouse pointers β so far! π
They better be making games / demos for Amiga 500 or I'm calling false advertising!

I ended up buying one, quite happy with it so far! (Haven't Rockboxed it yet, expecting it to be even better then).
Only real issue so far was one case of it deciding to blast music through its speaker while a wired headset was also connected and playing. Sharing is caring. π
Scenic view of a lake, seen from a pack raft out on the water. Front of pack raft, with a couple of fishing rods is visible at the bottom of the photo.
Dark night view of a camp site by a lake, with the moon above.
Morning view of lake and campsite, as seen from my hammock when I woke up (but that bit's not apparent from the photo, that's just between us alt-text readers).
So, did I stay at home this weekend and get started on some of my coding projects, like I intended?
I most definitely did not!
Ooh, and it's got my old baby Mali-400 inside! (Totally irrelevant for any of its use cases, but still!)
It's all fun & games until Maxifreak and Megafreak show up.
The only sane reason to challenge Blueberry in an optimizing battle is to see what he'll do to beat you.
Just skimmed it , but this looks really interesting!
Also, I can smell those offices. :D
Phobium and Xeche rocking the stage in 2023.
We repeatedly told Henning and Hans, "det holder!" but they just won't listen. π So, by unpopular demand β expect silly kicks, stupid samples, pointless breaks, and preposterous mixing. If you are not convinced yet, listen to tiny.cc/yyon001 Henning & Hans spiller opp til dans!

Still some time left before it reaches equipment I actually use.

I retract the "Note sure..." but. For reasonably sized polys and a decent amount of overdraw it should absolutely be worth it. :D
Yeah, seems like a variant of c-buffer / coverage buffer (if I remember the terminology correctly).
Not sure if it's worth the extra overhead just for the basic texturemapping in the screenshot, but "I'm sure they profiled it" :).
Could definitely be worthwhile for more complex per-pixel work.
I got this inexplicable urge to point out that I watched The lair of the white worm yesterday.

Ah, The Last Finger - the AGA intro where one of the effects rendered in a _smaller_ display window if your cpu is better than a 68020.
"Someone" learnt, right before the deadline, about the slower chip mem access of an A4000. The obvious fix was to render less on anything but a vanilla A1200. π«
I agree, might be a combination of both the source material and bitplane blending.
Well, doing the scaling quickly enough ain't bad - and I might of course be completely mistaken about what's going on there. π
Btw, there was a 40k intro at The Gathering 94 which used a very similar-looking upscaler: demozoo.org/productions/...
I'm not sure, but I suspect the image compression is fixed-rate, "just" rescaling 72x56 3bpp -> 288x224 4bpp. Possibly with blitter-assisted interpolation.
