We'll have news on our big event in Chicago soon, but we're happy to announce that we'll be supporting the Climate Action Museum with a casual mixer on Friday, April 3rd.

Cries in Chicago
I...worked on Plow The Sidewalks for several years...and...he just...he tweeted it out.
my skincare routine is whatever happens happens
god I love a 9pm caesar salad
Walkable places are cultural hubs that people value
Car dependent places are cultural deserts that only exist to get you to spend more money
February's tiny lil actions are here! Demand our sidewalks be plowed, fight back against Peoples Gas rate hikes, and more. tinylilactionschicago.substack.com/p/february-2...
two kids walking with flags across a crosswalk Instead of dulling the sharpest of weapons we hand out the weakest of shields
We ask everyone outside of the car to be safe so that drivers can be dangerous.
This is a reminder to my fellow Chicagoans that you can (and should!) report anyone who hasn't shoveled their sidewalk via the 311 app or website. 311.chicago.gov/s/service-re...
hope to see you all soon!
Rockwellβs Freedom of Speech, a man standing up in a crowd
I think Chicago urbanists should stop arguing for less bus stops as a solution to bus speed issues, it is dumb and ableist.
Stops that are closer together make it easier for people carrying heavy stuff, or pushing strollers, or with disabilities to take the bus. Getting dropped off a bit closer to home at night for a solo woman also helps her feel safer. I wonder if any gender-based research has been done on the topic?
to elaborate: I like that the robots can replace car trips, but don't want it to be at the expense of pedestrians or cyclists moving easily and safely through the city
oh HELL no
EPA proposes to stop measuring benefits of environmental regulations, just industry costs.
Seat belts cost car companies money.
Pollution controls on coal plants cost utilities money.
Water quality standards cost industry money.
EPA says ignore the lives they save.

Join me and fellow readers tiny lil actions chicago readers at this casual meetup to talk all things transportation in Chicago.
Screaming that Chicago is so far below other cities!!
Chicanes are a prime example of self-enforcing infrastructure design.
βUnlike a speed limit sign, which relies on voluntary compliance, a chicane uses physical geometry to dictate safe speeds. It removes the choice to speed.

Truly awful scenes.
I LOVE TO SEE IT
SIGH
Losing the crosswalk from the square to Cara Cara Club makes me scream
I saw an alderman defer to a local park advisory council on if he should install pedestrian safety enhancements on a nearby street, which had been voted for in participatory budgeting. Like, how can a PAC of 10 people overrule hundreds who voted in PB?!
PERIOD
I LOVE TO SEE IT (would love it even more if there was a grocery store on the ground floor; Logan Square is greatly lacking in them)
βRight now, Chicago City Council is weighing drastic cuts to the very safety programs that have driven this unprecedented drop in severe injuries and fatalities on our streets β cuts that would mean more dangerous speeding, more violent crashes, and more families grieving loved ones taken too soon.
