I just want to say that I hate it when I spend days trying to come up with a super elaborate illustration and never manage to pull it off, but then the simplest idea is the one that works best.

This too was, for me, when it became inescapable that the invention of the internet was a grave misstep.

Eternal Champions, a fighting game riding the coattails of mortal kombat. The chars had all died, and the prize for winning the tournament was your soul, a second chance at life.

The game book had the tragic backstory for each char. So you could read it to understand their stakes and get lore.
