Maybe fire up some Pac-Man and focus on how your input is affecting the output? Snapping algorithm shouldn't be too tough but getting a feel for a similar game might help you evaluate the logic.

I think your protagonist not snapping to the grid is going to be a pretty big frustration point for players. Looking at you getting caught on the edges makes me wince a little.

People like talking about theory with TTRPGs because the unique way TTRPG design intersects with player psychology. The average indie TTRPG designer is not magically more adept than the average video game designer. It's a skill like anything else. The way they talk makes them sound more self-assured

There are various TTRPGs that are more free form solo experiences designed to be played by one person. They tend to be simpler to run too. If you want more information feel free to ask.

There are plenty of people who would be better served by another system and should definitely open their mind to what all is out there. But, for more people than you would imagine, DnD is exactly the game for them. And despite the oxygen it takes up, it did bring some awesome people into the hobby.

GOG is DRM free? As is some games on Epic apparently. With Steam though you're totally correct.

It's mostly rules complete, I need A LOT of character options since I'm setting agnostic. The USP is very much about rules adjustability and modular options. Designing is fun because I'm trying to emulate perspectives that aren't my own and make them mesh with the core. It's puzzle-solving design.

1950s-1960s style sci fi in the style of Twilight Zone. Going into people's mindscapes, Psychonauts style. World made of arts and crafts where form becomes function. Star Trek type thing with non-Federation perspective. Kamen Rider deconstruction with horror elements. I got dozens of these.

I had a doctor's appointment recently where a second doctor came in and they explained to me that for insurance reasons, second doctor was the one I had an appointment with. He asked if I had any questions and reiterated some of first doctor's recommendations.

Also, patting myself on the back here: Yes your midwife character is a seperate Archetype and class template from librarian, tailor, and basket weaver. Tailor and basket weaver *might* match Archetype depending on focus but you can avoid that. (I'm still early stage WIP but this was fun thanks)

My new overly reductive TTRPG take is that if playing as a children's entertainer isn't a thing in your TTRPG, I don't want to play it. Adventurer can be my side hustle or whatever but I have to lead sing-a-longs as my day job.

For sure; notably Savage Worlds and Polymorph actually have dice "glitches" under certain circumstances where the book says an option is better but isn't. You gotta be careful with these things.

3d6 isn't too much harder to read than 1d20 but the effect on probability is advantageous for a number of reasons. Plus the probability of 10 or less is 50% for both. This is... an article worth of stuff ๐Ÿคฃ might talk to you about it later.

I do session awards, hyping up the sessions best roleplay moment, plot advancement, combat MVP, etc with a small XP reward. Then players pick an MVP. Experience basically shakes out equal but everyone gets to be celebrated.
