A little distraction from the news to start the day.
Here's that moment David Bowie appeared in an advert for Vittel interacting with a number of versions of his former self π€x

Nice to hear you say that. It felt like a director's love letter and completely agree about how fast it seemed to zip by. Just wonderful story telling x
Film poster for Frankenstein by Guillermo Del Toro
Given its many Oscar nominations we thought we should finally get around to watching this.
Thought it was excellent. The costume design was incredible and added so much to the narrative. A really great adaptation by Del Toro. Just wished we'd seen it on the big screen.
A solid βοΈβοΈβοΈβοΈ from us x
I read that piece earlier today and loved it. Have to say I'm incredibly flattered to hear you mention 52 Albums To Shape A Soul alongside it. Thank you π x
Evoking the personal stories woven through @lippykidmusic.bsky.socialβs β52 Albums To Shape A Soulβ series, this article by @grindrod.bsky.social in @thequietus.com is a brilliant read; as an aside it even mentions βSongβ by #ItsImmaterial (one of my favourite LPs) & the glorious #FrazierChorus!
Just seen Harry Styles BRIT awards performance. Where have I been hiding. That was excellent x
Best of wishes Bill. For day 1 and every day that follows x
Yes. I don't think you have to be a huge fan of Paul McCartney or Wings to have been moved by the obvious love they held for each other x
Its on my list. I recently read Wings: The Story Of A Band On The Run by Paul McCartney which I believe provides much of the source for the documentary. I thought it was excellent and possibly the quickest I've read a book in ages x
Couldn't agree more x
Album covers for Venus And Mars, Wings At The Speed Of Sound and London Town, all by Wings, lay on top of record player
Sunday vibes...
I confess whenever I hear Paul and Linda together on record I can't help but feel slightly emotional. I suspect I always will x

Electronic music is a genre that was started and shaped by women, so on International Women's Day, here are some Bandcamp recommendations for women making some of the best electronic music you can get today. π§΅
In honour of #InternationalWomensDay , these are some of my favourite films directed by women. Trailblazers, visionaries and powerful agents for change and awareness - I love them all and there are so many more to seeβ¦ #FilmSky β€οΈπ

Its a wonderful place inside and out. Along with The Britons Protection I feel they're two Manchester pubs that require protecting at all costs x
The same table football game is still there. Apparently made by a Salford company and now only one of three anywhere in the world x
Its excellent. Still my favourite pub in MCR β€οΈx
Picture of the exterior of the Peveril Of The Peak pub in Manchester.
This place just popped up on my insta timeline. Spent the evening here playing Pool with my brother and my Jamaican cousin who'd just flown in, before getting married the following day.
Amazed to hear that the same landlady, Nancy Swanick remains there today despite being 95 years old x
I'm not envious... really I'm not π¬x
π€x
Great to hear all of that Simon. Agree with you about that 'special something'. When you know, you know x
Nice one Nick. Planning to grab a ticket to see them in MCR too. A truly magnificent band πx
Album cover for 'It Won't Be Like This All The Time' by The Twilight Sad stood on top of record player as record spins underneath. Glass of whisky sat to the side
Tonight's whisky pairing...
I was fortunate enough to catch Twilight Sad touring this album and through James Graham witnessed an all time great vocal performance.
So much heartfelt passion and intensity he could barely stand as the show closed.
I can't wait for their new album x

We sadly can now no longer attend Roni Size and LTJ Bukem in Cardiff on the 14th and promoters not allowing resell or refund even WITH the ticket protection I took out π€·ββοΈ. If anyone wants them theyβre yours for face value ono. #musicsky
As today is #BandcampFriday the latest edition of @moonbuilding.bsky.social is very welcome. Plenty of hints and tips in here πx

Its excellent. Love the Aphex remix of that too x
Completely agree Stephen x
Not in this household ;-)x
