I also need a way to return a value into a variable. I know I can use a field with 'variable' type but how I get a value into that variable... I need in-depth, up to date documents on this.
What I want isn't even that complicated, just not sure how to make it work. lol ๐ตโ๐ซ

Does anyone know good resources on #GBStudio plugin development? I'm legit confused how they make plugins. I kinda get it but only things they wrote. And further confusion is when they JS file calls the C code differently and... many other things.

Been a while I posted about my Gameboy Color project... so here is one... the other one I'm making with a friend. Early progress, lots of planning ahead. Character sprite is placeholder. Lots of things might change. We are at the beginning of planning stage.

I'll need to find a solution to make it look like it moves around from place to place without being way too weird and believable. I realized how much fun it is to work with such limitations.
If @frictionalgames.bsky.social is OK with it, I would like to make it a full demake of the original game.

Testing, what if I split the area into many scenes.
While it makes it not seemless, it helps hiding areas. Making it more of a surprise. I felt like, the player sees way too much.
Now of course, monster pathing will be interesting.

I hate AI slop everywhere. It causes more harm than good. I can see how tough it is to deal with it when a project is a team effort.

Basically the inner part is the walking animation, the outer part is the running animation. You can smoothly go back and forth and works decently with in-between speeds

This game is fantastic, when it comes to atmosphere... One of the most memorable one for sure. There is something special about it that other games couldn't really achieve. Very strong start by Arkane Studios!
Definitely an inspiration for me.
