As 2025 comes to a close I thought I’d like to share a couple of images that bring back fond memories.
The time when I stood next to Judd Lander and a fellah called Paul McCartney as they duet on tiny harmonicas.
And my oil pastel creation of myself with my boy Luca who broke my heart when he died.

One of my favourites from this year. I'd painted the image of Leasowe Lighthouse on a piece of driftwood washed up from the Irish Sea. I then mounted it on canvas and painted another scene.
I liked the finished composition.

My first oil painting, 1979.

My Aunty was fixing up a run-down cottages in Cotterdale, near Hawes in the Yorkshire Dale's. For 2 weeks every year, we'd leave our council estate, Halewood, for a holiday in a place with no gas/electricity. We loved it.

My friends have a mirror in their garden, which I thought would make a nice composition.

Before I collapsed I used to take my boy Luigi for walks along the prom. A fence panel had been destroyed during a storm. The fence protects a small park from the ravages of the Irish Sea.
This oil pastel on canvas is called 'Nosey Luigi' as he peers through the gap.

I collected driftwood from Hoylake/Meols beach over the years. On this piece I painted Leasowe Lighthouse, which is the oldest brick Lighthouse in Britain. I the mounted it on canvas and completed the surround.

This time last year and the highlight for me was been wheeled around the hospital grounds by my daughter and my brother. Our day out.

I should add that I meant to 'try art' again.
I had intended to take up art on a full-time basis after leaving my job of nearly 30 years. I collapsed from a massive spinal shock & instant paralysis just 2 weeks after I left.
My new journey began on March 16th, 2024.

This time last year I was bed bound in hospital struggling with a broken neck &spinal cord injury due to myeloma. I couldn't walk or use my hands/fingers. As movement slowly began to return I started to try art. This was one of my first attempts while I was still bedbound, using water colour pencils

When Liverpool play bad they play horribly bad as they did in the 1st half today. Diaz and Bradley coming on made a difference but not much else to shout about.
