Damn. So there is a permanent record? michael moore assured me there wasn't
One of the joys of listening to @iciradiocanada.bsky.social radio. On the morning show this morning a discussion of the superbowl with sports guy. Two sentences on who might win (Chiefs). Four minutes on how to rotate your menu each year with piercing followup questions on chicken wings.
Well, that was fun. I just told a student to "Google 'the first law of Humanities Computing'" and my phone took it as a voice command, and read out the definition from my website!
One reason the world needs more Canada is new years starts at 730 pacific.
Canadian holiday tradition of angrily berating teenagers continues
Administrators who don't understand that the Humanities is really our best bet right now are simply wrong. Just like that. Wrong.
Some tips, general and coding specific, for using ChatGPT for projects. Most Important and generalisable: put in its memory that you want every response to end with [Response Number NNN | YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM | Chat name: ]

So down to basically the advance polls. One downtown, one across from the U of L.
28/50 reporting polls with 2 even, so a 28:20 margin there so far.
If the UCP could do that even after waiting until the students are mostly gone, then Lethbridge West is now safe NDP is my guess. Which doesn't bode well for UCP MLAs in YYC. #ableg
Looks to me like an NDP win by about 55:45.

This has always been my fear.
Since writing Once we were heroes (quondam glamour boys), a noir set in the 1966-1967 season, I've become an ambiguous Leafs fan: pretty much only watch original six match-up, which remind of games from that year, and hope they win, except not the cup (the fact they never win again is impt metaphor)
This is something else!

45 years ago today the Clash released London Calling.
December 14 should be a national holiday.
Hmmm... maybe I will work on some legislation.

My favorites are template-based ones. Last search we realized that all letters from one uni were following the same format. "X is the best I've ever had at Y. Dissertation is nearly done. Observed to be great teacher. Lovely person."
Give away was "at proofreading" for Y in sentence 1.

I don't know what you call the style of architecture they are discussing here, but I really love it.

Sincere question: has anyone ever read a letter of rec written by a North American that wasnβt at least positive, if not glowing?
Well that was for her undergraduate work. PhD is on MAGA, which is presumably a telling progression.
Two under-appreciated and related big picture trends. #EnergyTransition

If you are working on a #FirstDraft of your #story, remember, it's going to be messy. It's sort of like reorganizing the house. Sometimes you have to make a bigger mess first. That's normal. You are not a bad #writer. Everyone's first drafts are a disaster, even your favorite author. Don't give up.
