Make you Feel my Love, Adele covering Bob Dylan
Oh heck yes. This is exactly the energy I’m needing from my Senator today.
Booker: "I confess that I have been imperfect. I confess that I've been inadequate to the moment. I've confess that the Democratic Party has made terrible mistakes that gave a lane to this demagogue. I confess we all must look in the mirror and say 'we will do better.'"
I’ve taken the Senate floor and will speak for as long as I’m physically able to lift the voices of Americans who are being harmed and not being heard in this moment of crisis. Watch here:
Also, please note that the photo is slightly misleading. Adults ages 35–49 are the most likely cohort to have Long COVID, but all age groups are able to contract it. Children are often severely compromised. And across the board, one out of ten COVID infections lead to Long COVID.
If y’all are the folks that call your representatives daily, please add closing the HHS Office of Long COVID Research and Practice to your list. Many people with Long COVID are too sick to make the calls themselves.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
St. Patrick, a former slave, was less about the snakes and shamrocks, and more about the radical equality found in Christianity to the point of transforming Irish society to be one of the first nationalities to end slavery and emancipate everyone.
The Constitution is clear: the President can't arrest people he disagrees with.
By detaining Mahmoud Khalil — a legal permanent resident whose American wife is 8-months pregnant — Donald Trump seeks to undermine basic freedoms.
We must oppose this move toward authoritarianism.
There is nothing so humbling as trying to explain the Golden Rule to a completely skeptical four year old less than two hours before giving a sermon.
Senate Democratic leadership essentially played dead today and greenlit the Trump-Musk-Vance coup. What is the point of the Democratic Party if it doesn't actually act like an opposition party? Hello?
Whenever I use YouTube to help me listen to possible worship hymns, algorithm regularly reminds me that I need this plowshare prayer.
“I pray that if prayer has been used against you as a sword, against you and your heart, against you and your word, I pray that this prayer is a plowshare of sorts.”
Blergh.
Someone made a fake instagram account of me. If the instagram handle has a 2 at the end of it, that’s the fake account.
Also, I would never ask for a gift card from an instagram account. If I’m fundraising it’s going to come directly from Trinity and have an article in the newsletter.
I almost grabbed the garlic infused olive oil for Ash Wednesday.
Shasti’s position is extremely exciting, because WA was the only state that got bluer in the last election. That’s exactly the energy we need right now.
6. Wheelchair repairs times are increasingly lengthening, which is making people lose their accessibility. The Right to Repair also helps wheelchair users.
3. People who use wheelchairs may still be able to walk. This group of folks is called “ambulatory wheelchair users.”
4. Wage discrimination against people with disabilities is still legal.
5. Specialized wheelchairs can cost more than $10,000 and cars to accommodate wheelchairs start at $50,000.
It’s International Wheelchair Day!
Here are some important facts:
1. Wheelchairs are used by 1 out of every 55 Americans.
2. Wheelchair accessibility to public places wasn’t guaranteed until 1990, with the Americans with Disability Act (which is currently under attack by the 47 Administration)
Sometimes I wonder if the church had been better at standing up to church bullies for the past fifty years, helping them change their behavior and embrace curiosity and compassion, holding them accountable to standards of care, the whole country would be in a better place.
Of course there is. I’ll be checking in with my PCP faster than I expected then :/.
Info graphic asking, “Do you need a measles booster?” The graphic has an arrow segmented into different colors indicating each time period below. Born before 1957? Nope, you were probably already exposed to measles. Vaccinated between 1957-1962? Maybe, check with your doctor. Vaccinated between 1963-1967? Yes! The measles vaccine you received is nonsidered ineffective and you will need a booster. Vaccinated between 1968-1989? Maybe. Check with your doctor. Vaccinated after 1989? Nope. If you received two doses, your vaccines are considered effective.
With the recent outbreak of measles in Texas, public health officials are asking people to check their measles immunity with their primary care provider.
For all of us who are able to get vaccinated, let’s do our part and keep our community safe.
Bishop Mariann Budde continuing to be a graceful source of optimism and courage.
And for the math, if we’re looking at the $15k per dose drugs, for 400,000,000 my calculator says that’s 12 TRILLION dollars of new revenue.
If it’s just $10 (as most generics cost), then we’re looking at 4 billion, which is not a small amount for a company either.
And. That’s not quite how revenue works.
Even if these are old drugs, that’s still 400,000,000 people that will need, most of whom weren’t taking that drug before.
A new use for an old product should be a huge boon for any manufacturer. (See Stanley cups.)
In the article, it said that a few of the drugs hoping to get tested are $15k per dose and Cuban’s (very amazing and helpful generic pharmacy), doesn’t have these on stock.
Thanks. The research funding has been drying up for a while.
So. It’s important to remind that:
1. Long COVID exists.
2. Long COVID isn’t currently curable.
3. Long COVID absolutely COULD be treatable.
4. Community willpower is how we get treatments for any diseases.
