Let's take stock of where we are.
Oregon lawmakers approved a bill change that will prevent new data centers from receiving tax breaks meant for businesses investing in the state. More of the top headlines in today's Good Morning, News ⬇️

Portland kicked people out of temporary shelters for “not engaging” in services. The problem, the ombudsmen’s office found, was that providers did not adequately document whether people were or weren’t engaging, and recommended pausing evictions. The city briefly paused, then shrugged its shoulders.

No journalist is required to take the framing of those in power at face value. And if they feel they have to, it is not a truly free press. Maybe the question is more whether people *should* have a right to legal eviction process, if they are forced into specific places under threat of imprisonment.
