Havenβt bought it, but listened to the first part a few times (streaming). It bears repeated listens. But I shared the same fears as you. I dare say I can pick it up used one day if I change my mind.
Yeah, Beck playing those records with an orchestra was a bucket list item for me. Wonderful.

One of my all time favourite films.
Merry Christmas.
Just found one of my favourite books, The Puffin Book of Improbable Records.
Quentin Blake illustrations and John Yeomanβs text. I think a lot of my sense of humour derives from this book.
Well Kept Secret is perhaps one of only two listenable James Last records. (Ducks for cover). Great pick from your #vinylsanta and an absolute chazza classic!
Wow!
Classic northern soul from R Dean Taylor!
Great selection pack!
Iβm a bit late posting my #vinylsanta, but what a selection! Including the all-time greatest Christmas album and a chance to explore Jefferson Starship and Tangerine Dream.
Thank you vinyl Santa!
I think most of the band names sound like they were found in a medical dictionary.
Extraordinary stuff, isnβt it?
The recipient of my #vinylsanta can count themselves very very fortunate (or unfortunate depending on how you look at it) that I didnβt visit Oxfam in Bruges in time.
Currently enjoying the sheer joy of Brugesβ antique shops

One chazza find and the rest from the bargain bin at the local shop
Rejoice! Xmas cards are now for sale at www.etsy.com/shop/8bitnorthxstitch Thereβs something old, something new, something northern & something blue (for the lads): Wham!, John & Yoko, East 17, Slade, Royle Family, Fanny Cradock, Smiths, Spice Girls, Beatles & Ghosts. Something for all the family!
Itβs yours? Ha! Superb. Excellent work! πππ
An excel spreadsheet of a night-by-night breakdown of every Radiohead song being played on the current tour.
I love the nerdiness of the Radiohead fans who are tracking every setlist of the tour on excel spreadsheets.

Hey Andy - just wanted to say thanks for sharing this playlist - really good stuff. Appreciated.
This looks quality
If you are a fan of the Ace Records Jon Savage compilations, hereβs a playlist of what *didnt* get on the compilations.
Amazing stuff.
Wow. This is phenomenal! Thank you!
Thank you!
A playlist would be a lovely thing to see / hear.
Either way, I have all the CDs and have found them all fascinating and a fantastic introduction to so many different rabbit holes and new sounds, so thank you.
@jonsavage.bsky.social Hey Jon - enjoying listening to the final Ace records comp in your series. (They have all been so good). In the liner notes you mention early house records werenβt available to licence and I was curious if you had a list of records that didnβt make it into the compilations?
