For many reasons that can’t be understood from news reports. Kind of like how anyone would live in These Backwards Hillbilly United States when so many other arguably “better” counties exist.
Obama had a slight majority for a brief period in his first term. The Republicans took over that slight edge and, with an assist from SCOTUS, are 100% responsible for watering down the ACA to what we got. Midterms are *that* important. That said, I appreciate the benefits the ACA provides us all.

I was 12 or 13 when our algebra teacher had to teach (state curriculum requirement) us how to create a budget, write checks, and balance a checkbook.
