@bethkephart.bsky.social always beats me to the post! I am so incredibly happy that Tomorrow Will Bring Sunday's News is a finalist for this award. A huge thank you to #ForewordReviews. Brava, dear Beth!
On my drive this morning, I passed an old American Legion post that had a little dropbox out front, rusted at the edges, the paint all flecking off, with the words DISPOSE FLAGS HERE stenciled in large print.
Throwing that out there for anyone writing a screenplay about this moment.
Lovely.

Hi Bluesky - I'm Massachusetts' Attorney General. You might know me from suing President Trump nearly 50 times, beating Uber and Lyft in court, or being the first woman of color elected to statewide office in MA.
I officially left X today - help me find my MA people?

Statement from Michael and Susan Pretti Parents of Alex Jeffrey Pretti βWe are heartbroken but also very angry. Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately, he will not be with us to see his impact. I do not throw around the βheroβ term lightly. However, his last thought and act was to protect a woman. The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trumpβs murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper sprayed. Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you.

Someone with a storefront on Market St. offered exactly this in the middle of the night. By the time the 250th celebration (such as it is) gets going, there may be flyers on this history to hand out to tourists crossing Independence Mall. People here are outraged and are offering up great ideas.
Hereβs a way to support or discover the work of some of the best small presses in this country.
Ayanna Pressley with a powerful speech pointing out that the Black custodians cleaning up the mess made by the January 6th white supremacist mob was the most patriotic act of the day, their hard work making it possible for her and other legislators to return to certify the results of the election.
Me too.
Are you all following @moonpalacebooks.bsky.social the kickass bookstore in Minneapolis? They did great work in 2020, they're doing great work now, & they're just generally awesome.
