Thirty years ago seeing a bald eagle was a rare thing, you'd be lucky to see one in the remote places of northern WI/MN. Today I saw two flying in tandem above downtown St Paul.
People did that. We banned DDT, made a change for the better, the eagles came back. Better things are possible.

Sending love and solidarity to anyone making anything during these unstable, frightening and vexing times. Be it art, literature, journalism, cakes, cabinetry, robots, gardens, houses, portraits, sweaters, tapestries, models, games, relationships, or babies. it is good to bring good into the world!

A top-down, close-up shot of thin, translucent ice covering a sidewalk. The ice has large, smooth, light-gray air bubbles that form organic, rounded shapes resembling a map or cellular structure. A single, crisp brown leaf sits in the lower-left corner, and a smaller leaf fragment is trapped near the center, adding a touch of warm color to the cool-toned textures.
A high-angle close-up of frozen puddle ice on a sidewalk. The ice is defined by thick, dark, undulating lines that create a rhythmic, ribbed pattern across the frame. Beneath the frosted surface, white crystalline patches and a small, dark twig are visible. The composition is focused on the flowing, liquid-like geometry of the ice formations.

Hi. Are you doom scrolling through this crisis? Remember to take your meds, drink some water, roll your shoulders, and give your brain some rest.
You don't have to stay here, simmering in messages from every which way. You could run errands, complete a few chores, or work on your craft project

I don't have anything I can say on here except that I want everyone, especially the kids, to be safe and well, and that my heart hurts for so many people I care about who are terrified for their loved ones tonight

Here is a drawing I did some years ago, it is a drawing of a raccoon holding a wrench and saying “Anything you can do to undermine the US war machine is justified and morally right”. Pen and ink on paper.

I do gotta say that if anyone had told teenage me that someday I would be prepared to personally bail out an entire high school but the woman who made The Matrix did it instead I would definitely have been like “ok somebody needs their meds adjusted”
What an absolute real one. Thank you, Lilly 😭

This is a poetic little thread I wrote for Minnesotans in particular.
I'm quoting another thread in the first post of mine, & they're both worth reading, as is the post the initial thread is responding to.
We have friends everywhere.
We are sintering.
And we will win.

It's Ramadan and I am thinking deeply of spirit. And I think a lot about what some call "doomerism" as actually a lot of unprocessed grief mixed with a longing for meaning and purpose in life.

The U.S. is a country that is unable to handle death but is awash in it. A country with people who often can't process grief. These are terrible things.
