You see a cute video. We see a non-paid water taxi/uber fare.
@feathersofoz
Parrot fancier, Australian urban wild ones cos I live in a city. Don’t believe birds should be in cages, sold or traded. Protect wild habitat and our beautiful natural world. Filmmaker sweating bullets over climate crisis

'Difficult' women make the world a better place. Grateful to all who are difficult.
I rescued a poisoned pigeon who was dying in a back lane (rat poison I suspect or lead)… I buried it this morning but it was horrible to see a bird suffer like that. We have to stop using chemicals that hurt creatures
Terrible
Welcome to the Corella tree

@wwf.org.uk @wwf.eu Anyone who donates $ to WWF must watch this documentary.
WWF supports trophy hunting of endangered species and the trade of dead polar bears. Sickening!
Do better #wwf
Protect wild animals in front of revenue and reputation
While coal and gas companies are making millions in profits from burning fossil fuels, it's our communities footing the bill for climate disasters.
A climate disaster levy would make polluters pay for the damage they cause!

Since I wrote this article theconversation.com/in-the-most-... we've learnt that at least one Wilkerr (dingo) appears to have tragically perished in the fires.

Enjoying some possum ASMR this evening with@damienfarine.bsky.social. You can see her young moving in the pouch.
Social media “pets” fueling the stealing and trading of African greys. Warning - this is disturbing.
It reminds me of slavery in the 18th and 19th centuries. The cruelty to these birds is unacceptable
Every idiot who makes money pimping them on social media should be charged.
The australian film and tv industry has shrunk by 60%. International streamers Amazon, Netflix etc. Take 4 billion from Australia in subs, pay virtually no tax and use the NBN free of charge. We need quotas. Please Sign. c.org/9WZcZgBx2q
The government has finally stopped drip feeding EPBC details and provided them to everyone! www.dcceew.gov.au/environment/...
One of many howlers
"The proposed changes will also allow certain biodiversity certificates issued under the Nature Repair Market to be used for environmental offsetting."
Both the Labor Government and the coalition are more than disappointing on their lack of action on #climate emergency and the #environment
So many Australians are with Graeme Samuel in feeling angry about the failure to act. The environment shouldn’t be a political issue

Help our feathered friends. Count them! It only takes 30 minutes and from wherever you are.
Simple and fun. 🦜🦅🦢🕊️🦆
In Australia, 45% of Gen Z vote for the Greens. Is it any wonder with the way our governments (and both the two main parties) continues to align themselves with fossil fuel companies, open more coal mines and succumb to lobbying across all fronts. #auspol #climate #genz
Wow. Queensland which is most at risk of extreme weather events and much else, according to a latest #climate report puts coal and gas at the centre and have extended coal mines by 20 years.
Go figure. Suicidal.
Two elections and still the Australian government hasn’t brought in environmental laws to protect wildlife and nature.
And they continue to open coal mines while claiming to take action on #climate.
It’s shameful. #auspol #hypocrisy
Why do this while claiming to want action on climate crisis??? You are setting us on fire @australianlabor.bsky.social @albomp.bsky.social
While some leaders may call climate change a "con job", we know it's impacting ever corner of our country.
Ignoring these warnings & failing to invest in action + adaptation betrays communities across the country and leaves us unprepared.

A $30bn takeover of Santos by a foreign state-owned oil giant isn’t just business - it puts energy security, energy prices, export contracts & climate action at risk.
We need a public inquiry into this shady deal to provide transparency & answer questions.

Why when mining employees comprise less than 3% of Australian workforce, and have successfully pushed for their mines over the health of the planet, have any influence at all? Now their hiding reports on lead levels in children’s blood
New research shows that based on genetic, behavioural, ecological and archaeological evidence, dingoes are distinct from domestic dogs, including South-East Asian village dogs, which look superficially similar.

Did you know it’s an offence in Western Australia under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016 to feed native fauna without a licence, it can attract fines up to $20,000
Instead:
🌱 put native plants in your garden
💧 leave out fresh water

150 years ago today, the last known Rodrigues parakeet died.
It - and one other specimen - is now in @zoologymuseum.bsky.social: the only physical evidence the species ever existed.
I wrote about them & the importance of #museums in our knowledge of #extinction:
