I'll say this much @alecf.bsky.social , they cook in a very specific and interesting way you might be surprised to learn. I was. Their egg whites have much more protein in them, so they take a little bit longer to cook!
but smell, appearance, etc, it's like if you cracked two eggs in a skillet.
-That we lost out on so many. This spring will be a different story. Definitely have a system now to handle such a volume.
-We were able to salvage a few (like 8 I believe) and we did crack into one to see and the yolks are absolutely massive. I will try to remember to crack one and a chicken one so you can see a comparison, it's significant. But the puppies got to eat one before we did. I'm just bummed-
-I've been told for first years, during the first couple months of actual egg laying it is highly encouraged not to eat them due to safety concerns. I noticed they had laid back during...mid January, so we are going to wait till mid-late March to try them. That being said-
So unfortunately, many of them were not viable. We have been having some wild temperature fluctuations (super freezing temperatures, then a 20 degree increase, then freezing rain, then snow dump, flurries, etc. So the eggs have been through a lot. Many of their shells were cracked, however-
Still counts!
Write that down, but on your heart!
Your PFP with the white of the text is interestingly matching the color scheme of the credits lol!
Congrats btw, this is so cool. I can't imagine what that must feel like.
Has she given you any feedback yet where you pause for a second and are like: ".....oh shit, gotta write that down"?
Some games really "do" feel like they are more at home on the smaller devices than the bigger ones. It's such a snappy jump in and jump out game. I always thought it would be the best on a phone.
It's not easy to go from OW down a tier (or technically up a tier), especially as we get older. So for all the worth it comes from with me being a stranger, I am very proud of you. Please keep at it. Health is so important. I am working myself back down myself. Keep at it, you're glowing!
I feel like moments like that help create balance, and allows you to go to places for the sake of writing, and come out the other side healthy and ok.
Like it takes a lot to go to places like that AND to create from it, so being able to "escape" even for a second, is worth it's weight in gold.
What a cool feeling!
Also what a cool TV stand.
James, Nintendo already owns the trademark to this sentence, you are opening yourself up for legal kerfuffles!
Sounds like internet discourse 101.
Or, "an evening at the gamefaqs forums" foray lol.
Important note: These are NOT the eggs Carmen is currently broody and nesting on. These where found throughout the run, their play areas, etc. She's probably sitting on a dozen just her alone. I haven't thought to count those out since I don't want to stress her out/piss her off.
about three dozen duck eggs in a sink
Anyways, here is what our ducks have been up to...
Congratulations!
-Sound design is fucking INCREDIBLE. The main menu theme is soooooo good, Everything is nice and crunchy, The feral sounds of the zombies is a blast to listen to with headphones. It's TONE, divorced from the story, is perfect. Everything is just good.
Except for the plot. That's my micro review. /๐งต
-The game is just a blast to play. It shits the bed on the plot, like super hard, the absolute hardest, but it feels awesome to play. The Grace sections work really well, the new location (the care center) is fun, Leon's at his absolute best, the game design around the combat should be lauded-
-Fact is, at the end of the day this was really just an excuse to revisit Raccoon City again. Everything around that was good. They hit on all the right notes. Even got a bit of a taste of what "I thought" we would have got with RE3 remake in terms of city traversal. Outside of that-
-Just b/c a franchise has a history of being camp and over the top, they have tried to tell a coherent story before, so I am not a big fan of Capcom being able to go behind a curtain to pretend that bad writing was intentional when it's at it's most convenient. It's dumb. Can't have it both ways-
-I felt like they were at least somewhat "ok". Campy? Yes. Over the top? Obviously. But this one they go through great lengths to twist themselves into pretzels to make pieces fit when they shouldn't. Red herrings, debatable retcons, flat out lies. Plotholes for the sake of it...It's rough. Also-
Hit credits on RE9. Great gameplay, no complaints there. It's fun.
Holy fucking shit the rant I could go on about that story. I won't do it atm, but yeah...that might be the worst one in the franchise.
and I am counting Code Veronica.
Like yeah yeah, it's RE, who cares about story, but like-
Q BEE STAY WINNIN
JOSH! JOSHHHH! YOU HAVE TO IMPART YOUR KNOWLEDGE JOSH!
oh my god he's got airbuds in!
JOSSSSSSSH!
You can turn that part of your brain off? On a whim?
Teach me your ways.
Louder for those in the back.
Heads up to everyone, I will probably be going social media dark for a little bit because I want to avoid Resident Evil Requiem stuff until I get a chance to play it either this weekend or the next.
I will be peeking in to give game dev/asset updates still, but yeah, gotta dodge the spoils!

A buddy of mine years ago went through something similar. He had left the military, and became a contractor. He couldn't get his loan secured because of it. Even when going through the VA, and the nature of the job being directly from the military, he had to jump through some hoops to get the loan.
