The feeling is mutual, Peter!
Dear ANES community, the link below introduces our new Board of Advisors, led by Jamie Druckman. Jamie follows John Aldrich, who deftly chaired the Board for nearly 2 decades. This new group will guide us through the 2028 election cycle. Our deepest thanks to outgoing and incoming Board members!
Thanks, Nathan! The project appreciates feedback about potential errors. ANES users should feel free to contact us (anes@electionstudies.org, or me at nvalenti@umich.edu). We perform extensive checks, but things happen. We will try to replicate the problem and fix it before notifying the community.
Your friends at the ANES would appreciate your proposals for new content that we will pilot immediately after the 2026 midterm elections. Please see the announcement at the following link and submit your ideas! electionstudies.org/anes-announc...
Here is the link, look in the far left column for the datset labeled Timings:
electionstudies.org/data-center/...
Each row in the Timings dataset represents an interview from the 2024 data collection. Each column (other than the case identifier) corresponds to the elapsed time for a specific survey question for that interview.
We can all use good timing, right? Well, the good folks at ANES just released the question timing data for the 2024 Time Series Study. If you need a measure of cognitive engagement with particular questions, this is your resource.
Thanks again to the inimitable ANES staff!
New ANES Data Release! A new release of the ANES Cumulative Data File is now available for download. Over 200 variables have been updated to include data from the ANES 2024 Time Series Study. Consider it a holiday gift of data from your friends at ANES!

Israel, no one has ever considered me an optimist, but if good behavior matters, the ANES team (present company excluded of course) deserves to continue its good work.
It includes more than 2,000 respondents who answered the pre- and post-election surveys in each election. In addition, it includes responses from panel maintenance surveys in 2019, 2022, and 2024.
Please enjoy these ANES panel data responsibly!
ANES Data Release! electionstudies.org/data-center/...
The 3-wave ANES panel is now available. It merges data from 3 election studies (2016-2020-2024), the first time the ANES has collected interviews of the same respondents across 3 presidential elections.
The ANES project provides these tools as a resource for political observers, students, teachers, social scientists, journalists, policymakers, and the general public. We're glad to have been able to update these interactive tools with new data ahead of the new academic semester.
3. The third, the ANES Continuity Guide, offers a comprehensive list of ANES questions, organized thematically. For each question, the tool displays every year in which the question appeared in the Time Series, beginning in 1952.
2. The second, the ANES Question Search tool, allows users to enter searches for survey questions that have appeared in ANES Time Series Studies. Search results display questions by year, along with any associated question text and (where available) codebook records.
These web-based, dynamic applications can be accessed via the Data Tools section of the ANES website.
1. The first tool is the ANES Guide to Public Opinion and Electoral Behavior, with >200 graphs displaying the ebbs and flows of public opinion, electoral behavior, and choice in American politics.

Much more ANES data to come. We are most excited about the 3-wave panel with nearly 2000 completed interviews of the same respondents in 2016, 2020, and 2024. This will be coming in a few months. Very grateful to the ANES staff, Board, and of course the National Science Foundation.
