The Alba Party has now reached the β€˜two bald men fighting over a comb’ stage of absurdity

Alex Salmond’s vanity project and revenge vehicle has driven itself into a ditch. It’s collapsing in a storm of demented factionalism. To be honest, it is a joy to watch

Sad, but painfully true. Many SNP branches were glad some left to join Alba. Some were transphobes, others vaguely ultra-nationalist, others moaned loadly about everything. Critical voices are essential, not least because of the problem of being an insurgent movement in partial government.

'The irony is that this mob has done nothing but damage independence from the get-go. They brought a fevered and conspiratorial culture warrior vibe to the Yes movement which nobody liked or wanted.'

"Carr said: 'Some men when they have a midlife crisis buy a Lamborghini, but me - I want my very own castle.'

"I find that comment loathsome"

'Am I the only one who finds Alan Carr buying Ayton castle detestable?', asks @neilmackay.bsky.social

Snap. I adore the old 1930s Universal horror movies and the Hammer horror films from the 50s and 60s. I was thankfully raised as a feral atheist

This is not only incredibly weak, its false equivalence between Farage and Polanski is dangerous. One of them is a threat to liberal democracy, the other one is not. The text is a prime example of how radical centrism and the profound arrogance of self-declared liberals legitimize the far right

BP’s new boss will take home at least Β£11.7m this year, more than double her predecessor Meg O’Neill will be first woman to serve as CEO of 117-year-oil firm when joining from Woodside Energy in April

Why do we tolerate this?

Farage, the despicable little toe-rag, off to shit-talk his own country to his American Daddy. Reform hates Britain
