I think the survey is over-estimating but I'm personally a pedelec evangelist. Especially in Pittsburgh, owning an e-bike makes a cyclist lifestyle so much more accessible. The hills are still a challenge but not a death wish.

Do it. I am so much more willing to go biking with my pedelec. No more looking up at a hill and going "Fuuuuuck this." In the summer everything is a bike ride away. It's amazing.
