If you’ve previously bounced off Sixty Years in Space, I’ve now had reports from multiple players than update 6 made the game significantly easier to play while keeping all the emergent goodness intact.

I feel similarly about the scrubs reboot. Like do we really need it? Do I care?

How about telling some new original stories instead. Those are hard to come by these days and much more needed than pushing some grandpas through the money milking machine.

Reading the opinions about Firefly. I'm not sure I even have one at this point. If you would've asked me 20 years ago or so, I would've jumped at the news of another season!

Devices can often still function for a while even with different voltage (just look at people overclocking their GPUs) but it can damage the device over time and you may not even notice.

I wouldn't risk it :D the smoke could've just been some glue that vaporized on first use, but it could also be something important broke and now you are pushing too many volts into the device which slowly kills it.

Often smoke in electronics is a sign of too much voltage or a short circuit.

But again: It's mostly a family legend and there is not really any proof unfortunately. But sounds cool 😎

There is also a story (which is unproven, thus only a sidenote) that an uncle of my grandpa was a double agent during Nazi Germany and gave information to the US so that they could take over a large local airfield without a fight. He was able as a civilian to just walk in there even after the war.

So, how I often write, is that I come up with a base gameplay system, and then just keep going with all the stuff I personally would use/do use to run a full game. For DANGER CLOSE, that apparently means I'm now at page 80 (and counting) of a Complete Guide on Running Military Campaigns in TTRPGs.

I think with all these kinds of alterations after purchase you should really consult your local magic shop, or better yet the wizard manufactory that created the carpet. Otherwise you risk breaking it for nothing.

It actually took me years to eventually play actual D&D. Bounced off of the grognardiness of it very quickly and rather went with systems like CoC, Vampire and eventually GURPS.

Nobody outside Germany will know what the hell I'm talking about, but here goes: The Perry Rhodan RPG. It was a Midgard (a lesser known German fantasy ttrpg) variant in the popular German scifi setting of PR.

What a mess of a system, but quite fun playing it as a teenager. Was also my first time GM

But the player feedback was great and I have a bunch of new ideas on how to resolve stuff. This might be good enough for a first public playtest demo or something! I even have a working scenario for it that shows the feeling of the game as well. Good stuff, I'm quite happy about this :)

Playtest over. Overall not a bad experience. The new core mechanics work and are fast to understand. The trackers also worked, but I need to add a few more mechanics to it to avoid the typical "extended challenge grind" of multiple times the same roll until you have all your needed successes.
