it's early yet but I'm really impressed by Professor Moss Roberts's translation of The Romance of the Three Kingdoms. between the approachable, flowing prose and the incredibly thorough annotations, it might be the edition I come to recommend to curious newcomers.

since my hospitalization, as a kind of joke just for myself, I've been playing a lot of games with "blood" in the title (blood omen: legacy of kain, blood of bahamut, etc) and I am completely blown away by Blood Will Tell (PS2, 2004), based on Osamu Tezuka's manga Dororo. 10/10 for me specifically.
even with all this accounted for, the odds are lower than they were for my old 5e group's favorite statistical shitpost (each person rolling 4d20 once at the beginning of each session until someone got 69)
