An excellent novel overall. The only thing keeping this from being 5 stars is the translation. I much prefer Szabó’s work as translated by Ali Smith. Still a fantastic read! #womenintranslation #literaryfiction #historicalfiction

Amity is Harris’ 2nd novel and he just keeps getting better. This one is set in the West and chronicles the journey of slave siblings who were separated by their master. If you liked Sweetness, you’re going to love Amity!! #amity #nathanharris

Just finished. I went in blind and I’m glad I did! Very thought provoking and the author’s use of symbolism and imagery helped frame this narrative in a way that really speaks to the social climate of the 30s. I will read more from Wright very soon! I’ll be thinking about this one for awhile!
