hrt is life saving. laws and policies that stop people accessing it are simply cruel. so many politicians are so happy to put more kids through the hell i went through. blood is on their hands. the restrictions on youth transition kill. the nhs waitlists kill. transphobia kills.

if i had the access to hrt, was able to transition younger, i might not of had to go through years of suicidal ideation and dissociation. people say that ‘there’s no such thing as trans kids’, i was one of them! and i know that so many of us never got to grow up.

i moved 100 miles from my hometown to transition safely as an adult. i was so scared of coming out in my teens, so i didnt. i knew even back then that it would be nearly impossible to get treatment on the nhs as a minor. that fact has only gotten worse since.

i started at 19. i knew i was a girl when i was kid, i didn’t have the language to define who i was until i was a teen. when i learnt about transition and hrt, it was all i wanted. i spent years waiting and waiting to get out of my small town, saving my own money to go to a private clinic.

wowow 6 whole years on hrt today c: literally life saving medication. love yourself and your trans siblings, transphobes can eat shit.
