Americans have to start to demand that our Electeds fix the primary policy document of our country in ways that make this country more nearly a democracy and that limit the powers rich people and Elected Elites have over the rest of us. Otherwise, Americans will experience more misery, daily.
We need a Constitution that recognizes that people who have great wealth have great power, and that Constitution must limit the damage those people can do to the rest of humanity. Similarly, we need a Constitution that limits the damage that any President or Senator or Representative can do to us.
And worse than that, that CEO will most likely serve his sentence in a facility where his life is not all that bad; and he will probably be allowed to get out of prison years short of his original sentence. Elizabeth Holmes was sentenced to 11.25 years, and will likely serve only 10 of those years.
Do any of you ever consider that so-called white collar crimes usually hurt many, many, many people; yet we punish those crimes so leniently that a CEO can drive a company into the ground, leaving thousands of people without their retirement savings, and only be sentenced to a few years in prison?
Here in the US, we have learned from recent experience that trusting anyone to abide by norms is pure idiocy. We need our Constitution amended to make clear that anyone who abuses their power while holding public office will be sent to prison for a very, very, very long time.
Impunity has infected our governing class every generation through which I have lived. When you think about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's comeuppance, remember the truism, "Power Corrupts"; and remember that we need a federal government that is designed to hold people with power accountable, always.

We need an independent Attorney General of the US, elected by the people, with absolute autonomy from the current three branches. We need a Senate that enhances democracy rather than stunting it, distorting the will of the people to mirror the will of our American oligarchs.
Repeal and replace the Permanent Apportionment Act of 1929, enlarging the size of the US House and giving everyone fully equal representation in the body, and force your peers to stay in their districts rather than swanning for TV cameras in DC. Then offer us Constitutional Amendments.
When @democrats.org dedicate themselves to moving the US government towards being more nearly a democratic entity, our government will set up concentration camps where the poor and vulnerable are abused. You @democrats.org have to stop lusting after power and turn towards real democracy to end it.

These things are not new ideas, but they are ideas that are unpopular because our Elected Elites and our American oligarchs love their power and see it as a birthright. Political parties are merely extensions of our corrupt power system. I don't think they will never be positive change agents.
We need a Constitutional Convention which has as its focus how to set up a government that actually moves the country in the direction of meeting the promises of the Declaration of Independence for all persons living in the country, not just the rich and powerful.
Our political parties are inherently corrupt entities, focused on gaining and holding power for "their" people. Expecting those entities to support democracy is a foolish goal. Better to look at our primary policy and process documents, and amend them disallow any set of Elites to capture power.

The right to lie can be limited by simply requiring anyone with net worth above a specific amount or anyone who holds elected or appointed public office to preface statements of fact unsupported by empirical evidence with, "In my opinion." But penalties must be clear and draconian for that to work.

That old truism, "Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely," is a good assessment of human nature. Democracy - which we in the US have never known for real - is a hard thing to make work, but I think it's really the only option leading to large numbers of people pursuing happiness.
This is not to say that some of our current crop of Electeds do want to make life better for some people in the US; but until we, the people, actually take responsibility for governing ourselves, only after we stop hoping for Electeds to behave better than selfish humans all behave - disappointment.
