Massive bird flu outbreak hits Hickman's in Arizona: What's next for the egg supplier Will the deaths of chickens to avian flu affect the availability of eggs and raise prices? Glenn Hickman said he doesn't expect a significant impact.

H5N1 bird flu outbreak shuts down a large egg farm in Arizona.

The owner of Hickman's Family Farms says ~6 million chickens will be culled (USDA reports 5.2 million). They say it will take two years to rebuild the flock and hundreds of workers will be laid off.
