Looking out the window, I am thinking again that water on glass is my favorite #jewelry.

"I love the rain," you say, your breath the angel gray of a found feather, of a new day, of shower steam.

I am thinking again that I would let you kiss all the places where an enemy would put a blade.

She’s wearing her mistakes like a fiery shroud
A flame that flickers never bowed

But her heart still glows bright true
Mistakes couldn't dim the light she drew

In a teary river she didn’t drown
Rising high in her jewellery crowded crown

she's into murderous films
sweet tea
& antique #jewelry
from somewhere ago
I'm into her
smokin' Virginia Slims
kissin' on me
practicin' foolery
but takin' it slow
memories stir
on #heavy hangin' limbs
in live oak trees
moss in the breeze
where'd it go

How often I read this in college. Loved/hated it always. Seemed p condescending. Now, I'm old. And I'm definitely still ambivalent AF. It's not a pilgrim soul if you're giving a care about someone's opinion. But one man my ass (apologies to the OP for my ridiculous take)

What if our #shadows left bits of connection, tiny engrams of our existence attached to an unfolding future? Would it change humanity, or would it gather dust on the shelves of a history that no longer exists?

The medals were nothing more than pointless #jewellery for Dylan, but the crew seemed to take pride in receiving them, thrusting out their chests, grinning like they had just found a caseload of booze.
Dylan got his in a ceremony at Fleet HQ. His crew got them from him. It didn’t seem fair.

Chris turned to face her, the most #massive piece of #jewelry, a beaded medallion of the grenade-heart from Green Day’s “American Idiot,” swinging from his rope-beaded necklace. He saw Essie staring. “My wife made it. She’s our Advanced Chata Technology & Anumpa professor.”

She's never lived inside a box, nor has she ever fit inside any drawer. Yet, the world had got out of kilter, and this went beyond intentionally walking the cutting edge.

Up was now down, and down was up, right was left, left was wrong, and wrong was right. Gums were crawling on floors, while heads were carried under arms, replaced by buttocks on top of necks, where shells softened, and cores hardened.

It was like she was reading a boldly bad Picasso painting, fomenting urges, nocked, and shot directly from deranged, fishnetted hips.

Suits didn't suit such screaming scum.
The masks had fallen, and covert coats were no longer needed. Not for her, anyway.

She paused for a deep breath.
Her eye caught a greenflash. Then she watched in awe a four-leaved clover unfold, levitating in mid-air.
It made her smile for a while, before it dissolved into golden dust that showered the floor, which was still crawling with gums.

No need to be magnanimous, she thought. She'd simply opt for counting her blessings.

Dylan tried to be #magnanimous about the citation for gallantry in the face of The Enemy, but he wasn’t the only one to have fought in that battle. Most of his crew had suffered, but only a few got the recognition they deserved.

He hardly did a thing, barking orders, nothing more.

You are #magnanimous in the face of my fluttering, voice cupping my name like a rare butterfly. I bet many tongues have laced yours with love - or tied it like a cherry stem between wet teeth - yet the way you watch my mouth when I taste it... Later, alone, having flown, I taste it again.

Hypatia of Alexandria (c. 370–415 CE), brilliant Greek mathematician, astronomer, and Neoplatonist philosopher—the first woman known to head a major school of learning; she taught advanced mathematics, astronomy, and philosophy, advised civic leaders, and became a symbol of reason and intellectual freedom despite the era's gender and religious barriers.

The black-and-white engraved portrait shows her in profile, facing left, with a serene, contemplative expression; she has an elegant neck, large eyes, and elaborate braided hair styled in a high bun wrapped with a headband, rendered in fine line work with soft shading on a plain background.

At one time, Essie had wanted to #pursue a graduate degree in Library Science, like her #magnanimous new boss, Esa. His undergraduate and master’s degree were in Native Studies, but it was his Ph.D. in Library Science & the rich resources of the Temple—formerly the university library that allowed him to learn what he needed to know to do what he did to transform this space, to make it the only self-sustainable complex with technology like all Americans used to take for granted before the Fall in what used to be the contiguous 48 states. The District, with all the Tech Bros, had electricity, running water, & computers—even cell phones, but it relied on dirty & nonrenewable fossil fuels, the very stuff all the wars were fought over that led the world to the state in which it was now.
