The EPG flags mentioned in the blog are just strings of data where a byte of data makes up 8 switches or "flags". They will look something like 01100101 - each bit, or digit, switches a function on (1) or off (0).
The names used in the blog are approximations of what the switches change.
Today's blog update indicates that, if Sky Atlantic isn't made available on the V6 box as Virgin TV are claiming, it is possible that the channel will be withheld by using the Hide1 flag to prevent the channel being listed on the V6 EPG.

As is the nature of AI, running the updates on individual modules last night trained it to work globally. As a result we can't really diagnose what went wrong. Our DB coders will work on a pre-update backup to check if the error can be replicated and diagnosed.
There are overnight changes but updates will have to be done during the day as the database crashes when processing the data. Processing has worked for individual modules rather than globally. This probably means there is a fault with the AI processing stage which can't be resolved overnight.
The changes are four pre-launch configurations. One seems to be an EPG portal / slate. The other three appear to be duplicates of various FAST channels. Full details will follow during the day.
