Alberta as we know it today simply would not exist without the millions of immigrants and refugees who built it, who loved it, and who were proud to call it home - including my grandparents and my mum. This bitter xenophobia is as unAlbertan as it’s possible to be. I’m ashamed. I’m disgusted.

I have sent an email to my MLA, Mickey Amery, demanding a full and public, arm's length inquiry. CC'd the NDP as well. We need to make our voices heard. As many as possible so that this cannot be swept under the rug.

As Alberta citizens and voters what can we do to protest this? Calling the premiers office just seems to fall on deaf ears and my MLA won’t even return my calls or emails
