FUN FACT: Stoneflies are important indicators of water quality because they spend most of their life in the water and require very clean, well-oxygenated water to survive. Some have very fine gills under their abdomens. Stonefly nymphs do miniature push-ups on the stream bottom to increase the flow of water (and dissolved oxygen) across their tiny gills and bodies. Apparently, even this tiny, little bug knows it needs a good exercise routine!

Sure, let's post a third photo of an Ewok in a hole at an art museum.
Since the Milwaukee Art Museum is on Bluesky, I want to tag them. @milwaukeeart.bsky.social

'Protrude' is @britannica.com's Word of the Day today.
Here is an Ewok protruding from a wall at the Milwaukee Art Museum. I think this hole is part of the original museum architecture designed by Eero Saarinen, as a masterpiece of Brutalism.

Photograph taken November 10, 2012 when I was the only person in the exhibit for three hours.
The inside of Vaderβs helmet is a lot like the inside of C3PO.
Britannicaβs Word of the Day yesterday was βintricateβ. In my Google Photos, these two images appeared next to each other for a search of βintricateβ.

A street art installation from the "Star Wraps" series by Matt Maldre. A vibrant, high-resolution print of the Carina Nebula is wrapped spirally around a bright yellow metal parking bollard in a Chicago alley. The cosmic imagery of the nebula features deep purples, oranges, and celestial clouds dotted with distant stars, contrasting sharply against the industrial yellow paint of the pole.
In the blurred background, a row of identical yellow bollards recedes into the distance toward a Chicago city street. The urban scene includes the silhouettes of dark buildings, "L" train tracks, and the red taillights of a car during the evening rush hour commute. The ground is a mix of gray asphalt and a concrete curb.

I had a feeling something was going to happen in this Chicago alley while I was carrying around a eight-foot long print of the Carina Nebula.

I haven't really.
I just looked in my account to see the limits.
2,000 contacts and 10,000 sends per month.
I swear that used to be 500 contacts and 1,000 sends/month.
New free accounts are 250 contacts with 500 sends/month. I don't know how mine got so high.

Near this site stood Newberry and Dole's warehouse. On the brig Osceola, in 1839, they shipped the first cargo of wheat from the Port of Chicago. Erected by Chicago's Charter Jubilee. Authenticated by Chicago Historical Society, 1937
The marker is on the side of the Wrigley Building, at the intersection of Water and Rush streets.

A flag of a Chicago-style hot dog flies from my house.
The hot dog is in a poppy seed bun with all the classic trimmings: yellow mustard, bright green relish, chopped onions, tomato wedges, a pickle spear, sport peppers, and a dash of celery salt.
