Bummer, the film didn't use the seat at all!
Trying out D-BOX at the Cinema tonight. My second motion-cinema format.
Yeah, that's the one.
First time at the SAP Garten. What an impressive building. Also a really nice place to Ice Skate. β¬9.50 session with β¬8 rental fee.
I enjoyed it. Short, interesting, but rather sombre. Particularly enjoyed the unexpected Munich segment π I know there's a lot to analyse, the masculinity aspect, his relationship with older women etc, so probably one for the book clubs for years to come.
There's finely chopped carrots and mushrooms in there. But I guess they aren't well hidden. Otherwise, I was generous with the peppers and used white beans as well as kidney beans. Plus there's a generous amount of onion in the base.
Portal is a 3D Puzzle Game. In the first one, a robot (I guess evil robot, because she wants you dead) promises you that there will be cake at the end of the puzzles.
Spoiler: the cake is a lie. But there are Black Forest gateau signs hidden throughout the game suggesting that would be the cake.
This is the cake from my favourite video game π (Portal)
Second week batch cooking for the week ahead.
Last week's chicken pasta veg bowl with its mushroom sauce was a hit. Today I'm making a chilli packed with hidden veg. I guess it's not really hidden when I make and consume it but still, my goal is to make something nutritious that I want to eat.
Power Query has replaced anything where I used to say "I need to load this into a SQL Database to query it". I love it and I'm constantly telling colleagues to use it and demonstrating how! It's the ultimate no/low code data tool!
Tja, Pustekuchen.
Successful week, and the final boss of an Excel data challenge wasn't enough to bring me down. Now, drinks with a few familiar faces from Blue Sky and into the weekend.
It is fun, for me anyway. I love data. This is an activity that fits my personality and place in the company. But Excel crashing wasn't on my radar... If it keeps up I'll have to switch to Tableau which looks fancier, works faster, but is inherently less 'accessible' because change is hard.
Today I'm refreshing CSV files with updated ones and it's the second time this week clicking refresh closes Excel.
I've found myself in the position where I've got to lead on data driven decisions on the company's data/data management.
To keep things transparent, I opted to stick to our company's official language of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Graphs and PivotCharts from CSVs loaded by Power Query.
Pepper? That's something I've not tried. Skirting towards a Chai spiced-Coffee here?! I guess I need to eat my own words and try this.
A pinch actually improves the flavour. Don't knock it til you've tried it.π
I had to look up who that is but her art looks stunning. Last time I only went to Wallraf-Richartz-Museum so this is a contender. Cheers!
Only passed through on the train a couple of times but remember recognising it's another city with the mountains much nearer than they are in MΓΌnchen π
I too am in a spot where business travel is rare enough for it to be a welcome break from routine and a novelty! Enjoy!
I'm visiting KΓΆln for a weekend 21-22 March for a concert at GebΓ€ude 9. Does anyone know anything else happening that weekend?
Figuring the out what to do on a second time in KΓΆln and a first solo visit. Figured it's worth 'announcing' it to open myself up to unexpected ideas.
Itβs slow and it felt a little bit too long at times, but the music and the characters were good enough they carried the story through.
Film "sneak peak" in the cinema last night was The History of Sound, out in Germany in April.
Moving but melancholic Folk/Americana. A well-acted, slow-burn, fly-on-the-wall piece which luckily tied up in a devastatingly beautiful way.
Reading today the news they plan to electrify the Trainline by the end of the decade.
Wasserburg will be a part of the Munich S Bahn. I guess I need to go before then and it changes forever? Maybe I'm too sentimental here. It's just one change in Ebersberg, currently.
I've never been to Wasserburg am Inn.
When I worked for a small business back in the UK, the owner and sole trader of the firm would always talk about his time in Germany, where he visited in the summer months and was served "Pfifferlinge".
Some absolute kings of the kebab game in the UK. Unfortunately some others you wouldn't go to before enjoying 5 pints.
Hattest Du Abi in Deutschland gemacht?
Ja, ich habe Abi in Deutschland gemacht. Abi Kebab.
Local kebab place is changing it's name. Not my favourite Kebab Teller place but another one. I'd already clocked that they are new owners. Not as good as I remember it the last time I went.
The new name?
Abi Kebab.
Which prompts the following conversation in my head...
I have a reminder to cancel mine next month. Only used it for one round trip. Maybe I need to squeeze in one more.
MΓΈl - Danish "Blackcore" which I learned is the intersection of Dark Metal, Shoegaze and Hardcore.
A few bands I've listened to this week
FjΓΈrt - post hardcore from Aachen Germany
Catapults - Emo Indie Punk from Bremen area/North Germany. Deceptively upbeat sound.
Tiny Voices - Mid West Emo. Seems like an underdog in the latest wave of bands.
